COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An intense Double IPA brewed for the "hopheads" of the world. This robust ale is so full of malt and hops that you can almost chew on it. Served in a snifter to bring out all of the nuances of malt, hop, and alcohol.

Pours a great looming orange opaque with a perfect head. Aroma is great, light and soft. Flavor is sour, like a grapefruit. A little strong, but tasty. I appreciate the beer in this style not being so heavy with the malted hops.

can-pours turbid orange with a small fizzy white head. nose is candy hops, sugar, lite oxidization, floral, but not very puncy in terms of freshness. some woody notes come out as well. flavors are very citric/sweet with not much bitterness at all. alcohol is well hidden i must say. mid palate, there is a decent woody note followed by a lite resin. finish is short but mostly citric, with little bitterness. kind of a wierd IIPA. I wonder if its different on tap? dunno. regardless, average at best.

Pours hazy amber orange with a rocky tan head. The aroma has lots of caramel malts along with tropical fruit and floral hoppy traits. Medium / full body that’s on the slick side with semi-soft carb. Starts with sweet caramel malt and some syrup traits, cotton candy and hoppiness like the aroma. The finish continues the sweetness and there is a lingering hoppiness. Okay IIPA, but a bit sweet for my tastes.

12 oz can. Pours a deep golden orange with a small white head. Aroma has some fruitiness from the hops, mostly citrusy with some hop resin notes and some sweet caramel notes as well. Flavor has some muddled character, overly sweet especially in the finish, almost candyish with some of the piney hops coming through, though providing very little bitterness. Medium almost light medium body which is weak for the style and a soft carbonation. Definitely not up to par for the style but not wholly unpleasant.

From a 4 pack. A bit $ for a local beer in a can. $9. Don’t know what it looked like since it was drained out of said can. Brought to a party where a couple other guys also enjoyed. Medium pin resin/hops all around. Went down easy. Maybe the malt likka of IIPA’s. Solid enough , just drop the damn price.

12oz unlabeled can. Pours a cloudy amber color with an off-white head and some lacing. Aroma is hoppy, citrus, grapefruit. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, with a light bitter hop finish. Hop flavor is a little understated for a DIPA, but not terrible.

UPDATED: AUG 1, 2011 [100th DIPA rating] Pours a cloudy orange with a big fluffy sticky white head. Aroma might be the best part of this beer, sweet rich resiny and piney, candied hops. Flavor follows, bit thin and watery in body, quite sweet, sugary candied piney hops, medium amounts of tropical fruit, just overall sugary, hides alcohol well though.

12oz can nice design. Pours hazy dark orange with off-white head. Aromas of grapefruit, pine, caramel malts, and somewhat fresh hops. Flavor of grapefruit, some pine, bitter hops, little bit of sweet maltyness, and some soap. Has a nice hops bitterness and malt backbone. Solid DIPA.

Got a can of this from Honkeybra. Pours a very murky dark orange. Hops, dishsoap, and some sweet malt on the nose. Honkeybra’s review mentions onion, and I might smell it, but I probably wouldn’t if I hadn’t read that. Decent flavor, but it’s more malt-heavy than hop-heavy. I prefer hop-heavy. Drinkable.
