An intense Double IPA brewed for the "hopheads" of the world. This robust ale is so full of malt and hops that you can almost chew on it. Served in a snifter to bring out all of the nuances of malt, hop, and alcohol.

Hazy copper with a small beige head. The aroma is mostly resinous, and fruity hops, with some slight alcohol and caramelized sugar. The flavor is similar. Full bodied and somewhat balanced. Not bad.

Taster at the Blarney Stoneís Solstice Fest, Oak Forest. Cloudy amber color with a fruity hop smell. Simply tastes quite full of IPA goodness, but also plenty of malts to make for a pleasing balance. Lots of pine and a bit of apricot in the hop palate.

Poured in a tulip glass at Kaseyís Tavern in Chicago. Beautiful deep color meets expectations of a double IPA. Not overly hoppy on the nose or palate. This one kind of grows of you like a band starting out with some stuff from a new album that the crowd hasnít showed up to see. In the end, a solid representation of the style and worthy of a post-Lolla celebratory spot.

Can. Pour is a hazy gold with quickly dissipating head. Nice floral hops, not overly flavorful but solid. Good beer.

Can at Lincoln Wine Bar. Small white head. Amber body. Malty aroma with some grapefruit. Flavor is sweet to start. Followed with some grapefruit, toasted malt, sticky hop finish.

Dirty and hazy amber, Nice aroma of resin hops but a little sharp, citrus undertone with a strong malt backbone. Moderate body and carbonation, little bit of initial sweetness but becomes bitter and grows more so. Leaves a nice blend of resin hops and malt. Good.

Dark orange pour with an off-white head. Aroma has a nice hop influence- a little fruity. Taste is hop dominant- light fruit. 8% alc. is well hidden. Hops are not over powering. Nice lacing.

I got a bad 4 pack at a local grocery store not known for itís craft beer. I need to listen to my buddies advice "donít buy craft beer at a store that doesnít turn lots of it over". OK, my bad, and wow was this bad. Not a HINT of IPA in this. Malty sweet, very very little bitterness. Blech. If I see this at a different, more reliable store, Iíll try it again, since Iím a fan of citrus and floral hops.

Draught at Drop Off, N.Y., June 1. Pours a deep orange-amber with a small semi-lasting frothy white head. Nice aroma of fruity hops, citrus and tropical fruit. Big hoppy flavour, quite fruity, along with a bit of alcohol and a finish that is only slightly harsh. Medium bodied. I quite liked this.
