3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz can.
It pours a thick, dark black with a frothy tan head that is short-lived and leaves a bit of lacing.
The smell is moderately roasty with hints of caramel, cocoa, smoke, malt, and alcohol. The smell could be heavier though.
The flavor is decent. It has a noticeable roasty flavor along with some basic white sugar. It is noticeably thin though which detracts a lot from it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tasted on 3/9/11 from a 12oz can purchased at Binnyís Lincoln Park. Pours opaque deep brown, almost black, with a thick brown head that slowly recedes to a nice collar of lace, leaving lace along the inside of the glass. The nose is dark malt, smokey, chocolate, espresso, and a bit of nuttiness. The flavor is molasses and dark malt up front, moving to dark chocolate, espresso, light vanilla, burnt bitterness, and a bit of smoke. The body is full with light carbonation and a long dark roast and smokey finish.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Blah. A boring and bland stout. Aroma was weak. A slight alcohol presence with a hint of dark chocolate. Pour was a flat black with a thin off white ring for a head. Taste was weak and watery. Not much flavor unless you get a mouthful and even then itís weak. Coffee, dark roasted malt and not much else. Turns to water mid swallow. Very light carbonation that leaves quickly.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz. Can (at 6%ABV per the can): Aroma of hard roasted malt, roasted grain, light lactose, slight chocolate, and some oats. Poured pitch black in color with a small, brown head that disappeared quickly. Opaque. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of roasted malt, lactose, slight caramel, grain, chocolate, and some cream. Medium body. Thin, then lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Roasted malt, grain, chocolate, lactose, and caramel finish is slightly dry.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This is a very deep garnet red, almost completely black and opaque. The head is small but finely bubbled and long lasting. Nose is of sweetened coffee and something about it implies an acidity that implies cherries. Palate is medium bodied and slightly oily but the flavor is not quite full enough to make the most of it. This isnít a bad stout but itís a little plain, just mild roasty flavors, a slight hint of tartness and some fruitiness. Perhaps it is slightly above average for the style.

This Wild Onion effectively pops my Wild (Onion) Cherry, and man, do I love cans these days (and not just your motherís). The pour here is huge dark blackish brown with 2-finger frothy tan head. The nose is rich patent malt, roasty, cacao, hops, mild rauchy. Tastes creamy, black patent malty, late hoppy, with a medium palate, a smooth finish, and an overall uplifting character about it. Good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black/brown pour with a brownish tan, bubbles and cream head, that reduced gradually to a ring and film, and left some good waves and spots of lacing. The aroma was light grain, roastiness, mocha, and molasses. The flavor added some light smokiness, moderate hop bitterness, medium body, and a lively carbonation that restricted the body from feeling any fuller on the palate. A decent brew nonetheless.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap pour at GLBF, dark brown with off white head. Aroma was thin, with some oat, roast, and a hint of chocolate. Thin on the palate, touch of oat and roasted malt, finishing a bit bitter and pretty weak. Not like the rest of the reviews, unless I had a bad sample...but really didnít impress.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Bavarian Lodge in Lisle, IL. Pours a black body with a finger-width, creamy, tannish beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, but a little light. Rich and smooth, oatmeal chocolates with a moderate roast. A bit smoky as well. Flavor is nice. Sweet and smooth, rich chocolates up front with a bit of a milky chocolate taste as well. Good amount of balancing roasts with a light smoke help finish this off with a light bitterness that dries and leaves a lingering aftertaste. Full body, creamy, and very smooth. Overall, a solid, very drinkable stout. Rich, sweet, and creamy with a solid roast balance. Not bad.
