Can poured a translucent dark brown nearly black with a small lingering brown head. Aromas of roastiness, milk chocolate, vanilla and light carmel. Palate was mediuum bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roastiness, cocoa, vanilla and light coffee with a smooth dry lingering vanilla finish.

Blind tasting @ home. Deep brown / black appearance with a creamy brown head. Softly roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and oatmeal in the aroma with some dark fruit tones. Somewhat creamy mouth feel. Slight acidity. Moderate plus bitterness. Mild sweetness. Earthy / coffee flavor. Smooth finish. Pretty good.

This Wild Onion effectively pops my Wild (Onion) Cherry, and man, do I love cans these days (and not just your mother’s). The pour here is huge dark blackish brown with 2-finger frothy tan head. The nose is rich patent malt, roasty, cacao, hops, mild rauchy. Tastes creamy, black patent malty, late hoppy, with a medium palate, a smooth finish, and an overall uplifting character about it. Good.

On tap at Goose Island Stoutfest. Nitro pour.. very deep brown with a cascading creamy beige head. Nose was of roasty chocolate, light coffee, and a little spiciness (possibly rye). Flavor picked up dry dark chocolate and coffee and was quite nice. Medium-bodied and smooth on the palate.. with a grainy feel at times. Bitter coffee finish. Tasty!

12 oz can. It pours a thick, dark black with a frothy tan head that is short-lived and leaves a bit of lacing. The smell is moderately roasty with hints of caramel, cocoa, smoke, malt, and alcohol. The smell could be heavier though. The flavor is decent. It has a noticeable roasty flavor along with some basic white sugar. It is noticeably thin though which detracts a lot from it. Can and served in Guinness Impy Pint glass: Pours a deep mahogany hue with a lovely creamy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of roasted and chocolate malts, some earthy tobacco and leathery esters, oats and biscuit, grassy and herbal hop vapours with a touch of pine and citrus. The taste is a rather chocolatey with some roast and char along with an ripen fruity component. Minimal bitterness and almost no hop character. A tad sweet but still drinkable. The mouth feel is slick and medium-bodied with a slight metallic and ashy finish. All thing considered, you could do much worse outta a can than this. Would be a nice beer for a campfire.

On tap pour at GLBF, dark brown with off white head. Aroma was thin, with some oat, roast, and a hint of chocolate. Thin on the palate, touch of oat and roasted malt, finishing a bit bitter and pretty weak. Not like the rest of the reviews, unless I had a bad sample...but really didn’t impress.

Can. Pours near black with a beige head. Lightly roasted malts, light sweetness, and a hint of coffee and grains. Not bad.
