Retorp (2158), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 18, 2008 The aroma holds cocoa, toffee, chocolate, white cake, butterscotch, lactose and vanilla cream. Leans toward the sweet side, but I like it. The body is full on black and holds a two finger thick mocha head that is creamy and lasting. Sweet whipped chocolate, cocoa, sweet cream, roast/burnt bitter malts, dark fruit and fudge. Finishes with a bit of licorice/treacle and burnt molasses. Ok it’s got a bit of diacetyl, but I guess I am a dumbass, because I utterly fail to see why this beer is rated a 57 overall percentile. This is damn tasty. railcat1 (488), Hammond, Indiana, USA Jun 21, 2008 This had hints of chocolate and some coffee but it was kinda thin and it oured with a nice tan head, the abv was on the light side for this style but it was very drinkable over not bad .CHEERS! hopdog (4564), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 1, 2008 12oz bottle acquired in trade with jake65 (thanks!). Poured a dark brown color with a larger sized tan head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, and some coffee. Tastes of roast, chocolate, some caramel, and light coffee. Thinner all the way around for an Imperial Stout (but a decent Stout). hotstuff (3038), Indiana, USA Jan 20, 2008 Draft at WRBC, Grants Pass, OR. Tan small head that was mostly lasting, minimal lacing, opaque, no visible carbonation, and a dark brown hue. Nose was chocolate, roasty and some hop notes. Ditto for the flavor. Mouthfeel was smooth. Light-medium body. Quaffable, but on the light side flavor wise given the style. goldtwins (3732), Nesconset, New York, USA Sep 30, 2007 Poured a clear brown copper color. Huge diacetyl aroma. Some sweet roasted malt pokes through. The flavor was roasty, buttery and bitter on the finish. /light to medium bodied.
