3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Glouglouburp (5613) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 16, 2009
In short: A by-the-book Dunkel Weisse of superior quality.
How: Bottle 500ml swing-top. Consumed fresh soon after its release. Sent to me by Presario, thanks a lot Trevor.
The look: Cloudy brown body topped by a small beige head.
In long: Nose of toasted wheat and clove. Body is pleasantly full without being heavy. Ripe banana peels, cloves, chestnuts, earth, milk chocolate, a little caramel, tree branches, tree roots. An overall pleasant “dirty” sensation with a strong forest floor character. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. This was a great brew from a brewery I usually don’t care about, in a province that does not produce good beer and in a style I usually don’t care for. I’m now thinking that maybe I should check out Garth Brooks country Christmas album.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 DuffMan (5242) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 25, 2009
Ceramic swing top bottle. Pours a hazy brown with golden highlights. Low aroma of chocolate , banana, and spices. even after breathing a while the aromas remained muted. Freshness may be an issue here. The flavours are nice: chocolate, estery banana, cloves, and a woody/reedy element that lends a real rustic character to this beer. Tasty, but I bet it would be better if I’d had this on tap.

On tap outdoors at the brewery. Dark brown. A little cloudy and even muddyish in the bottom of the glass. Fair head with stacks of bubbles more than foam. A little bit of banana and light smooth chocolate in a dusty yogurty cream body.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 reebtogi (3383) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 9, 2012
500ml swingtop bottle pours a brownish color with a finger and a half of off-white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild chocolate and roasted grains with hints of banana and cloves. Taste is roasted grain bitterness with some chocolate and caramel malty sweetness with hints of banana and cloves in the finish. Medium bodied with light carbonation. As far as dunkelweizens go, this one is pretty dam good.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 cfrancis (1808) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 15, 2009
Pours a dark brown with an almond head. Aroma is sweet with malt and cloves. Taste is very nice. A nice full body that is pleasant on the palate. Citrus bite with malt flavours and caramel. Just all around a really great beer. Thanks to presario for this!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Savvy1982 (1705) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 1, 2009
Draft at the brewery. Pours very hazy medium to pale brown, soft head, nice lacing. Nose is very estery, lots of bananas, fruit, chocolate. But very soft, mild, not as intense as some. Palate is more of the same, very heavy on the bananas, plus figs, milk chocolate, ashy in the finish. Not bad.

I was a little dissapointed by this beer. Pour is pure dark brown with a soft tannish head. Aroma of chocolate, banana, coffee and malts. Taste is malty and rich barley, chocolate and caramel tones. A rich and flavourful beer with a touch of ununusual aftertaste of spiciness.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Powertrip (999) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 1, 2009
Coca-cola like colour with a hearty tall and thick head. Mustard, dark roast coffee, paint thinner nose. Black coffee and tarty malt mouth. Cooler and light near the end and finish has a dusty mouth coating showing evidence of a thick beer. Very lightly carbonated.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Cole (967) - , Alberta, CANADA - NOV 8, 2009
Pours deep brown tall thick head.Malty yeasty aroma. Tastes very roasty and malty not much of a wheat flavour. Slightly spicy not a bad beer but its a bit thin I was expecting mare body.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 hobbersr (690) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 4, 2009
Pours a chestnut colour with a one inch tan coloured head. The aroma has chocolate, banana, coffee, and earthy tones. It tastes like chocolate covered bananas with a spicy earthy finish. Creamy mouth feel. Nice.
