500ml swingtop bottle pours an amber orange color with a 2 finger white head that retains well and leaves some nice spotty lacing. Aroma is big pine and grapefruit with some caramel and hints of peach. Taste is a big bold piney and grapefruit hop bitterness with a good caramel malt backbone. Medium bodied with some nice carbonation leaving the palate in a pleasant state. Ranks right up there with the Dragon series beer from Alley Kat.

Light amber, ok head. Herbal hoppiness with hints of mint--nice. Fruity and herbal hoppiness on the palate with a well-balanced malt backbone. I am curious about the Bravo hops, and what quality they impart. A solid fruity and herbal IPA that is sessionable--quite statement for an 8% ABV brew. Would like to enjoy again, though don’t know how likely that will be unless I make it to Calgary!
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 TimE (2584) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JUN 4, 2009
Deep golden color. Frothy white head. Apricots and citrusy nose. Hops are a touch spicy. Fully malty backbone, but with enough hops to really lift this up. Very well balanced. Excellent mouthfeel. Long lingering hoppy finish with a touch of malty sweetness. Top notch in many ways, but cranking up the hops would have made this out of this world.

500ml bottle thanks to presario, shared with friends at a tasting.
Aroma : Fresh hops, notes of passion fruits and mangos. Some notes of peaches too. Hints of caramel.
Taste : A bit mineral and even metallic. Notes of passion fruits.
Overall : Nice one. Sweeter than the black oak 10 bitter years that we’ve had just before which I prefer to this one.

500ml brown flip top. Pours clear, brassy orange colour. Head is small but clingy. Good lacing. Big piney aroma, spicy, grapefruits. Malts are sweet below a layer of pine and citrus. Finishes with grapefruit, orange peels, pine and a hint of alcohol. Medium slick body, mild carbonation. Very smooth and very drinkable, but fresh and intense. Nice job Wild Rose!

500ml bottle from a trade with hobbersr. pours clear orange with a fluffy tan head. great retention and beautiful lacings. low carconation. american hop aroma, some honey comb, citrus,. great aroma but it could use some dry hopping. big pale malts up front, citrus hop middle and pine hop finish. the high IBU’s show and you can tell some high AA hops were boiled for over 60min. this is a very good example of an IIPA. it actually reminds me quite a bit of hopslam. add more dryhopping and youve got a winner.

Poured out a large off white cap with minor lacing and a clear, amber hue. Ahhhh thick sweetness, pine and peaches, lemon rind, caramel and more sweetness, floral, grapefruit, good. Tasty with everything you want in an IPA even if it’s not top of the line. Thick and sweet as the aroma, caramel, pine, lemon, unsweetened grapefruit, light alcohol, peaches.. good stuff on every sip - consistent flavour. Yumz. iky7tsdt)(4j5[lmc,gn.,gl;[’;//////////////

amber/copper colour with a frothy white head and lace. Fantastic, fruit hop, pine needle, jelly baby, fruit gum aroma. Rich fruit, malt, barley, grass flavour. Slight grapefruit bitterness in the finish. Rich toffee.

Thanks to presario for this. Just a fantastic specimin of IIPA! Pours a nice brown amber with a thin white head. Aroma is pine, hop and a little biscuit. Taste is sensational. A great smooth balance of hop, bitterness and pine biscuity mouthfeel. I could drink this all the time. At 8%, you really don’t taste any alcohol. Just great resiny goodness. Perhaps a little metallic but with such a need for good IPA’s and IIPA’s here in Ontario, I’ll take whatever I can get.

Bottle. Opened too late, too late. Nose is ripe grapefruit, delicate, perfumey, but the great citrus and spruce hop punch I remember has faded. Palate still has plenty of bitterness, but the love is gone. Still a lovely beer, but a shadow of its former glory. I truly hope they brew this again.
