4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A true Canadian brewed IIPA worthy of the name. Not a lot of balance here, but the hops are definitely enjoyable. A solid golden-brown pour with orange highlights and an off white head. Citrusy hops are the aroma of the day. The flavour is grapefruit hops with some biscuity malts. An excellent beer!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Présence massive du houblon; un peu mentholé, très citrique, un peu résineux. Le malt caramel vient rééquilibrer tout ça avec sagesse. Chu fatigué. J’va m’coucher.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Just back from the Wild Rose tap room on the eve of the launch of this year’s Imperial IPA. A strong, forceful beer with HOPS!!! and CITRUS!!! Really nice, extra hoppy and enjoyable. The alcohol isn’t noticeable... until you stand up.
For extra fun, if you’re in the tap room, ask for an Imperial James Brown.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle. Aroma is extremely floral and super piney (think the pine sap you get on your hands from the Christmas tree) with hints of grapefruit and bubblegum. Amber-orange in colour, very clear, low carb and a medium sized white head. Flavour stats with a huge bready malt backbone, followed by caramel, wood, mellon, grapefruit and maybe even a little apple. There’s a big, big bitter finish here too and the alcohol is very well integrated. Nice oily mouthfeel. There’s something intangible missing here that keeps this beer from being up there with the best US IIPA’s, but it is still an extremely good offereing from WIld Rose.
