Hazy light amber color, creamy head. Good american hops aroma, not too strong, with some caramel and a light cheesy touch (interesting). Good caramel flavor, strong bitterness, dry resins or hop oils too, and very light cheesy touch too. Very pleasant.

2008-07-27, draught at Ship and Anchor, Calgary, 6-3-7-4-14=34
Amber color. Light fruity hop aroma. It has some caramel flavor, light sweetness (I would like more), strong bitterness, with some nice hop oils, and strong final. Simple but pleasant.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2014 2014 re-rate, draught @ National. Hazy amber-copper, thick head. Earthy, some yeast, light toasty malt, on the palate there’s decent bitterness, a touch of orchard fruitiness, maybe too much yeast but overall it’s just more of a throwback IPA, lacking the brightness of modern examples.

Original 2003 rate: Bright orangey-amber; curranty, leafy hop aroma, with blood orange and light toast. Fresh, fruity hop palate - apple, salmonberry, lime. Vibrant hoppiness, but understated toasty malts. Sweetish for style. 7-3-6-3-13 = 3.2

Gold amber, with small white head. Honey hops with light citrus and cloves. Woody notes in mouth, with citrus, light hops and some scotch. Good body. (rated NY 2004)

BeerandBlues2 (9701) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - MAY 22, 2006
12-oz bottle via trade with presario. Pours clean copper with an edgy off-white head, some lined lacing. Aroma is fruity, floral and soapy hops, sweet caramel and maple malt. Heavy acidity, moderate bitter and metallic hop, medium sweetness, bitter and dry hop finish. Medium bodied and fizzy, dry palate.

More like a pale, not that hoppy, a medium mouthfeel, with a sour base..wheat? Some orange citrus and spices. Lots of malting to sweeten. Floral hops.

12 ounce bottle. The name of the person who shared this beer will be withheld to protect the innocent. Hazy apple juice color w/ no head. Aroma is melon, pear, caramel and something very, very wrong. Totally oxidized with a very papery taste. Some subtle hops and a slightly vegetal taste. Completely flat. Total trainwreck.

1 L flip-top bottle. Nice deep dolgen colour, thick white head. Aroma is slightly citrusy with some light resiny spice. Also prominent biscuit and bready malts backing up the hops. Flavour is quite sweet and bready, with some spicy hops in the finish. Moderately bitter. Could use some more hops.

jercraigs (7812) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 21, 2004
Moderate off white head atop a golden amber body. Grapefruity hops in the aroma lead to disappointment in the lack of bitterness in the flavour. Needs to be kicked up a few notches to warrant IPA status.

MartinT (7811) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 18, 2004
UPDATED: NOV 28, 2004 C-hops portend an incoming dry end and are clobbered by a harshly bitter, almost chalky scratch on the tongue…Butterscotch resides underneath but is completely overwhelmed and decides to stay witness and not participate too much…Very carbonated with piney and intense grapefruitiness...The name is appropriate, this really is a rough and decisive IPA…

rosenbergh (6838) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 7, 2010
341 ml bottle. From Calgary, AB, Canada.
Clear copper colour with small white head. Rather mild sweet sugary aroma with fruity hops, cereal (like in all WR beers) and malt sweetness. Short hoppy flavour with sweetish fruits and malt. Short and mild bitterness that fades quickly.
