Bottle to glass. Pours a deep brown, almost black color with a thin and quickly disappearing light brown head. Aroma is mostly dark roasted malts, with a hint of strawberry sweetness. Flavor has a bit more balance to the roasted burnt malts and strawberry character. Lighter in body with a mild lingering burnt malt. Not too shabby.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Faint strawberry nose, sort of artificial, with toast. Fizzy mahogany, thick tan head, good retention and lacing. Medium body, easy carbonation, astringent. Little strawberry presence, much to my relief. Drinks more like a standard schwarzbier, toasted barley. Respectable and fun.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
World of Beer, Arlington tap: Pours black with a beige head. Aroma is mostly lightly roasted malts, grain, and a hint of strawberry. The beer tastes like a schwarbier entirely up to the finish when a hint of the strawberry starts to manifest it as a sort of nice bonus at the end. All things considered, this was done pretty well.

Aromas of strawberry and dark chocolate. Very dark, almost black, with a mostly fading, off-white head. Dry, fruity, and roasty. Light, clean, and with soft, refreshing carbonation.

Had this at the Summer NOVA BrewFest. Poured a dark brown color with a bit of translucency, with notes of strawberries, caramel notes. Flavor was actually light strawberries, a touch of chocolate, bitter notes. Pretty drinkable for such a hot summer day.

At Savor NYC 2013. Had the characteristics of a Schwarz, roasty, almost burnt, and a big nose of strawberry. Pours deep brown/black, cream colored head. The flavor is roasty, ashy, with strawberry. The finish is sweet, roasty. Pretty novel idea, and not bad overall.

Draft sample at the 2nd Annual Top of the Hops Charlottesville, VA beer festival, 9/10/11. Pours a dark hazy reddish brown with a large frothy head. Good head retention. Aroma of big strawberry and citrus notes. Smells like a fruit roll-up. No hint this was ever a shcwarzbier. The taste is strawberries, a faint bit of roasted malts and chocolate. Medium bodied.
