COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bodacious Bock is a traditional German spring bock. Three organic malts are employed to give a complexity which hints of honey. Only German noble hops from the Hallertau region are used for a soft bitterness and floral aroma. It is decoction mashed in the old world tradition. This is a strong beer, imbiber beware!

On draught at 2013 North American Organic Brewers Festival. Golden amber color. Sweet caramel syrup aroma. Sweet malt flavor and a syrupy mouthfeel.

Poured from a can into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a hazy amber color with a one finger head of just off white foam. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading to leave a light level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is strongest of a bready and slightly grainy smell mixed with a decent showing of a lemon and sour funk smell. Along with these aromas comes some lighter notes of a sweet orange and apricot as well as a bit of a grassy hop aroma. Taste – The taste begins with a mix of a grainy and quite sour taste with a good deal of funk and some lemon. There is a little bit of a sweet fruit taste upfront, with this flavor fading rather fast and giving way to even more sour of a lemon and apple cider vinegar flavor. Toward the end some more funk and grass come to the tongue, bringing with them even more sour and leaving one, in the end, with a very sour (for a bock) flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather thin for a 7.5 % abv with a carbonation level that is rather average. While the light body really is not great for the bock style, in light of the very sour tastes of the brew, it actually kind of works and makes it a little easier drinking. Overall – Way too sour for me for the bock style. Not what I was expecting at all. No really balance and nott one I will go to again any time soon.

Can caramel, cereal, herbs, barnyard, basement aromas, golden, cloudy, frothy, white foam, heavy cloying sweetness, lightly bitter, medium sourness, full body, oily feel, soft carbonation, imho too sour for a german bock.

From a 16 oz can. Pours a hazy gold with an off white head. Malty nose. Astringent and tart flavors -- possibly skunked. Not nice.

16oz can pours with a hazy copper to gold body that supports a thin white head. The mild aroma offers up malts, a dab of breadiness, lemon zest and some light funky yeast. Hmmm. The taste starts with malts and some wheat mixed with zingy lemon zest and then a funky sort of yeasty off note. This only gets worse with more samples. Seems a bit infected.

Tap in Kalispell. Starts out. Nutty with a hint of peanut butter. Turns into flavours of raisin and burnt brown sugar.
