Commercial Description:
With the equivalent to one shot of espresso in every pint, this stout is surprisingly light and refreshing and the perfect pick-me-up for those long winter days.

Draft @ KLCC Microbrew Festival: Pours a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is strong with coffee. Almost overwhelms the lighter notes of cocoa and roast. Flavor again is a shot of coffee with chocolate and roasted malts playing a minor role. A kick of bittersweet right in the end.

On tap at Green Dragon Bistro in Portland, Oregon--Poured n opaque black with a frothy grey-brown head. Lots of earthy espresso and chocolate notes with subtle vanilla and pine as well. This is a very assertive stout great for cold wintry days. Yummy!

Draught. Poured black with tan head. Coffee tinged aroma. Flavour of malt, black coffee and roast. It says it’s a chocolate espresso stout, but I didn’t get and chocolate notes. Lingering coffee and hop finish.

On tap at the 2007 GABF: Mostly opaque black pour with a frothy, spotty-lacing dark tan head. Aroma of rich sweet dark chocolate and roasty coffee with some sugar cookie notes. Body starts with a nice light caramel sweetness and good dark chocolate balance toward a tasty roasty coffee finish. A very drinkable stout.
