3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ha1ag (647) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - SEP 11, 2012
An other from Ben! Dark brown color with a thick creamy off-white head. Slightly roasted nose. Aroma is roasted with soft bready malts and hops. Flavour is toffee, roasted malts with slightly bitter finish. The bottle says Scottish Ale, RB says bitter. It is too soft and roasty for a bitter.

A reddish brown ale with a thin light mocha head. In aroma, a nice nutty malt with light chocolate notes, torrefied, nice. In mouth, a rather watery nutty malt, thin and tired, light metallic notes, grassy. Tasted with GRM, Probstblueribbon and Ian, July 20 2012.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 EithCubes (4198) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 16, 2012
Bottle by JUN 2013. Nose is crystalline, light fruit and a caramel base, light roast. Pours dark brown with a fluffy tan head. Oily malty body, light roast and chocolate, a little more fruit. Faint hopping, swirling toffee and caramel mix with earth, but they’re down low. Malty light body but not watery, has a little spring in its step and works as lightweight.

Gift from the Scotsman. Bottled. This brew had a pleasant roasted malt , chocolate and caramel malt aroma and flavor. The finish was mild hop and bread. It was decent.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 tfredvik (630) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 19, 2012
Clear deep copper body, with a small, frothy, light-brown head, fair lacing. Sweet malty moderate aroma with lightly roasted notes, dark caramel, chocolate and sweet dark fruits. Subtle and inviting! I actually forgot to note how much sweetness I found in the taste, but as far as I can remember it was moderate to light. The finish is light to moderate bitter. The flavours follow the aroma, with the same delicious roasted notes, caramel and sweet dark fruits. A bit light bodied, but at the same time a very pleasant smooth texture and soft carbonation. I really liked this one!
