TET (1658) - FINLAND - JUN 25, 2013
A very dark brown with some reddish colour, a head is almost medium and beige. Aroma is succesfully and quite complex, roastiness, chocolate, some toffee, wood, earthy aroma. Taste is quit esimilat than aroma, slightly roasted, wood, balanced and low toffeeish sweetness, a little bit of fruits and herbs. Medium- bodied, smooth carbonation, easy to enjoy. The positive surprise with the same earthy nunacees that could be found from many Haandbryggeriet’s beers. Complex and tastefull beer.

I am confused. the ales mostly red ones and this one by Williams Brothers seem to taste alike. They are drinkable, but not exceptional. refreshing. They feature nice ale characteristics, beautiful colors. but their core seems to be the same. this one has an extra taste of raspberry sirup. a blend of dark chocolate and fruits like a pear or strawberry marmalade. malt taste definitely. overall drinkable.

500ml Bottle from Morrisons (£1.50):
Rich with some chocolate and darker malts initially plus some sweeter malts and a hint of caramel and toffee. There are a few lighter, caramel hops and some milk chocolate.
Dark mahogany brown colour with a pretty thin looking, foamy head that is light brown in colour and stays as a consistent covering.
Sweet and milky chocolate plus some good, darker malts. The chocolate was backed up with a little spice, a nutty caramel flavour and some light hints of toffee towards the end. The beer is pretty creamy tasting and is rounded of with some earthy hops and a touch of bitterness.
Medium bodied but still fairly thick and with a good, creamy texture. There is a good smoothness to the beer and carbonation is moderate with a dry finish and some nice sweetness throughout.

Quite a nice sweet and milk chocolatey flavour that seemed more like a light milk stout than a Scottish ale but an enjoyable offering regardless and one that I’d have again.
