50 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a huge, creamy and tan head. Aroma is mild roasted and slight breadish. Sweet caramelish and slight breadish malt flavoured. Sweet roasted breadish malt flavoured finish - could counterbalance from the hops.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of dusty hops, malt, caramel, and some fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and some spices, leading to a dry spicy finish, where also a note of nuts appears. The alcohol tickles the tongue. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Reddish amber/brown colour with mediumsized off-white head that sticks around for quite a while. Aroma is caramel malts, mild peated/toasted notes as well as some slight fruity and floral hops. Flavour is quite much the same with also some grassyness lurking in.

Bottle, at Cardinal. A clear, copper-colored beer topped by a small, off-white head. Almost peaty on the nose, with butterscotch and some dried fruits. Butterscotch, dried fruits, roasted malts and some faint peaty hints in the mouth, full-bodied and dry. Roasted finish. A pleasant, flavorful beer where the butterscotch isn’t annoying at all. 091106

500ml bottle from Sainsbury. Attractive clear dark brown with very thin beige head. Some malt on the aroma. Sweetish malts, some crystal in here I guess then. Bit of milk choc. There is a little musitness that makes me think that the bottling isn’t as clean as it should be. It’s a malty bitter, with some good and poor malt flavours at the same time.
