3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at home in London - got from some online retailer. Pours dark brown with red highlights and a creamy tan head. Pleasing aroma of lightly toasted bread, mellow cocoa, soft roast. Light to medium sweet flavor with lightly charred toast, mild milk chocolate and subtle scorched earth bitterness. Light in body with fine to average, massaging carbonation and creamy texture. Very well balanced to finish with further milk chocolate notes, more toasted and lightly burnt bread, minimal bitterness, perhaps some torched leaves. Highly drinkable beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Coffee in scents, with roasted malts, prunes, old red wine.
Dark brown to black body, with a tan/beige half finger head upon.
Tastes roasted caramel malts, hops underneath, some coffee, and liquorice is quite tiny and only sweet. I guess it is that malted wheat.
Easy to drink, gentle to swallow.
Fruity finish, with caramel, some bitter fruity hops under, some yeast.
Overall quite good, especially considering the moderate 4.2% abv.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle. Pours an opaque black, with a small light beige head, which fades fairly quickly and does not leave much lacing. Roasty malt, whipped cream and milk chocolate make up the aroma. Mild peppery hops up front give way to smooth milk chocolate in the mid-palate. A touch of roasty malt comes in at the finish. There is nothing too exciting about this one; it’s simply a reasonable middle-of-the-road stout.
