On tap at Drygate Glasgow. Dark brown coloured, minimal pale beige head, light chocolate in the nose. Roasted malt, dark chocolate and light coffee with notes of hops in the finish.

Keg at Inn Deep, Weegietown. It pours darkest brown with a small yellow-white. The nose is earthy, roasty, coffee, meaty, umami, treacle and salted caramel. The taste is bitter-sweet, roasty, toasty, liquorice, coffee grounds, charred wood and earth with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not bad.

Keg @ Drygate. Pours like a glass of coke, black and very little head. Smoky aroma, taste is coffee with hints of fruit. Bit watery, otherwise this would be excellent

2014-06-28. Ruby tinged black body with a modest brown head. 3+ Aroma is mild, light cocoa like dusty roast, mild fruity undertones. Flavour is surprisingly mild and fruity, dusty musty cocoa hints and a not quite roasty character to it. Average bodied palate, light carbonation is a bit thin and very much so for a stout. Draught at The Potting Shed, Edinburgh on 18 May. Poured black, with a creamy, beige head. Aroma was slightly dampened by the pillow head; some dark malts, molasses and cocoa getting through. Dark chocolate flavours, with some prunes and burnt malt. Finish was treacle, roasted malt and dried fruit.

It has an aroma of great barley notes with some spiciness, has a perfect long-lasting head and black-amber body. Flavour is a reliable barley and maltiness but rather simplistic. Medium mouthfeel with a dry finish. It’s a decent drinkable stout, but middling for the style.

Half, served from cask at the Red Squirrel. Creamy, tan-coloured head that laces well. Deep, dark brown coloured body. Roasted earthy malts on the nose. Dark malty flavours of chocolate and dark bread. Slightly roasted endnotes. Creamy texture. Quite alright, a bit thin bodied though (Edinburgh 07.08.2013).

Keg at the Hanging Bat, Edinburgh. Pours black with a tiny white creamy head.Aroma of toasted malts, liquorice and coffee. Taste is moderate bitter, coffee, some chocolate and liquorice, which I am very fond of, so a good one in my book.
