2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
50cl bottle thanks to Jeremy. Pours somewhere between gold and amber in fact with a nice generous head. The nose is very much like breakfast cereal, grainy with a bit of creaminess. The taste has more grain and a citrus tang. The palate is medium bodied and medium textured with a clean finish. Overall, good session ale but Bruce ’n’ Scott can do a lot better than this!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle @ Henrik, Bergen, shared with Palme. Pours a slightly hazy dark orange body with a medium creamy white top. Sour-ish noble hop tones in the nose; Styrian or East Kent Golding perhaps? Some pale malts as well, as can be expected. Taste is slightly "papery" grassy hops, mild pale malts and not much else. A bit boring, but then again I don’t expect much turmoil from a bottle of low ABV golden ale. Smooth and drinkable, but I think this is overrated.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
0.5l bottle @ Henrik, Bergen shared with ClubGonzo. This one pours a pale golden body with a heavy lacing, sidesticking white head. Aroma is mild with some light grassy notes, watery fruits and hints of hops. Average carbonation, quite light-bodied and it has a thin and watery mouthfeel. Flavors are quite bland, but you can sense some mild malts and weak hops. Ends with a nice light malty finish and aftertaste. Mild is the keyword on this one.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle, Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm, 16 Sep 2011) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, peaches and biscuity malt. Fruity, slightly malty taste with citrus, peaches, biscuits and a mild citrussy bitterness in the finish. Light body, fairly dry. Tasty, refreshing and very drinkable. Nice one.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. Clear darkish golden, good white head. Grassy hops, hint of something earthy on the nose. Clean, dry grassy palate with some hints of zesty hop. Nice refreshing summer brew, but nothing exciting.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[500ml bottle, Peckhams Stockbridge, Edinburgh] Extremely clear golden beer with a decent white head, which reduces pretty quickly. Aromas are quite subtle, some malt and a touch of grassy hop. Very drinkable, as the palate is clean, with a lemony citrus component. Bitter, slightly dry aftertaste

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Booth’s, Ilkley. Brilliant orange gold, almost Lucozade with a strong lacing head. Mandarin cheesecake and violets aroma. Tangerine and cream, lively (not itchy )carbonation beading until the glass is drained; some cherry and lemon and honey cough sweet. Dry closing rasp of soapy hop and husky malt. Well put together like most of The Brothers’ stuff. Ideal lunchtime BBQ refreshment.
