UPDATED: NOV 3, 2011 Aroma: Bready, hoppy notes.

Appearance: Light golden in colour, thin head which quickly dissipates.

Taste: Not very exciting, but crisp and fresh. Very drinkable.

Palate: Thin body, soft carbonation.

Overall: A refreshing, hoppy blonde ale. Not the most memorable, but I would purchase again.

ClubGonzo (4372) - Bergen, NORWAY - OCT 30, 2011
Bottle from Centra Colosseum, Oslo. Shared with Palme and RuneStumo in an Oslo park near Youngstorget, in lack of a better place to drink. :-) Slightly hazy golden body, big cloudy white head. Aroma is citrus, grass and hints of lemongrass. Taste is grassy hops, lemongrass and pale malty tones. A bit thin, but easily quaffable and OK, all in all.

0.5l bottle from Centra Coloseum, shared with ClubGonzo and RuneStumo in a random Oslo park. Pours a slightly hazy golden body. Big fluffy lasting cream-white head. Quite nice aroma, light hoppy, some grassy tones. Soft carbonation and a mild nice oily mouthfeel. Really refreshing flavors, light floral, citrus, good nutty tones and nice chocolate paper in the finish. Quite nice!

Pours yellow with white head. Slight hop aroma with caramel malt. Taste is similar, some hay, fairly well balanced. Bit boring

Bottlet (500ml):
Light amber with thin head that has ok retention.
A fair bit of citrus on the nose that is quickly followed up by some floral like hops and a nice tropical fruit smell. The down side of this is that it is a struggle to detect.
Floral hops that match up with the nose & a slight fruity tang however there is little in this beer to make it stick out from the crowd any. Some bitter hops can be detected at the back end & there is a sweet tang to it but again it is not the strongest.
Quite light but I wouldn’t go as far as to say it is watery. There is good carbonation & a crisp, dry finish that is slightly too bitter imo.

Average golden ale & one that struggles to stick out from the many others just like it. Sadly it is the weakest offering from the brewery I have tried to date.

stravale (2315) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - SEP 23, 2011
Bottle from Tesco
Appearance - Golden orange, clear, frothy 2 finger white head, some lacing.
Aroma - Citrus hops, slight resin, sweet malts.
Taste - Grapefruity citrus hop, light sweet malts, some floral notes, tiny hint of spice. Good, simple, refreshing flavour for the abv.
Palate - Very slightly sticky oily, average carb. Finish leaves a citrus tang with a little sour bitterness.
Overall - Does what it says on the tin - A refreshing, hoppy ale. It’s rather simple but it’s an ideal ’lawnmower beer’. Well made for a bottled ale at 3.9%

Scopey (7877) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 20, 2011
Bottle from Sainsbury’s. It pours golden yellow, with a thick white head. The nose is white bread, dough, floral and sweet orange. The taste is straw, hay, white bread, dough, lemon pith and light ginger, with a dry finish. Light body and moderate, but harsh carbonation. Ok.

50cl, Scottish brew, from Bierzwerg Greven, not complex brew, malty/floral and slighty sweet/bitter, easy to drink, yet balanced, clear, good head, simple brew

I’ve been looking for something like this for a while, and it’s delicious. It’s light, slightly hoppy, has a wonderful, dry slight pepperness and a slight creaminess to it. I think it’s the closest bottled beer I’ve found to the perfect Peters Well from the Houston Breweries. An excellent find. Delicious.

Bottle at home. Pale orangey yellow colour, medium white head that fades to a thin foam. Aroma is subtle but pleasant - slight caramel biscuit malt with nice grapefruit hops, but I just want more! Palate is crisp and refreshing, with some nice berry notes in amongst the predictable breaded malts and thin citrus. Finish is moderately bitter. Very refreshing, but maybe just a tad too restrained.
