Released for Sainsbury’s Great Gritish Beer Hunt 2013
Great Glasgow band and great name for a beer. We coax the amazing aromas out of some NZ and Slovakian hops, blend with an eclectic bunch of light malts and cold condition on an infusion of cone hops mixed with freshly-pressed strawberries

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Watford. Poured gold, with a light haze, thin white head and good lacing. Aroma of peaches, bitter rind, unripe fruit and hay. Tart citrus flavours, oats and banana. Finish was somewhat musky and chalky, with some hop resin.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe [260414]
Amber, clear, frothy white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft sweet strawberry, citrus hops, some tangerine, getting a hint of peach, pale sweet malt background, fresh
Taste of sweet quite fruity pale malts, citrus fruits, soft strawberry, dab of peach, citrus zesty hops, nice soft sweet pale malt background, good flavour
Palate - soft carb, light to medium body, fairly oily, nice zesty palate, quite sweet. Finish as main flavour, citrus zest, hint of strawberry, crisp , clean
Overall - The strawberry works very well in this, subtle, not too much to unbalance the beer. Seems to be more a good golden ale to me, but as a lager it’s very good - much better to me than Caesar Augustus.

500ml bottle, Sainsburys. A pleasant and fairly robust lager with a good level of hopping. Nice biscuit malt flavour coming throuh with just a touch of strawberry on the palate. The berry is more noticeable in the aroma alongside the same biscuity malt and slightly piny hops. Would be interested to try this without the starwberry. Good lager though as it is.

Bottle. Light hazy golden colour, not much head. Has a crisp pale ale texture with a good fruity character that’s enjoyable in both nose and taste.

Bottle. Amber beer with a strong white head. The aroma is hopped with sweetness, and the flavour is smooth with a bitter and floral hopped'ness. Overall a pretty nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hipsway, the band had a previous connection with lager when one of their tracks was used to advertise McEwans Lager on TV in the 80’s. Thankfully they are now associated with a much higher standard of drink. Golden, orange in colour with thin head. Aroma is mostly fruit although not exclusively strawberries. Nice biscuit taste with a slight hoppy finish along with the fruit. Nice on the palate, not too fizzy. Very decent drink although it wouldn’t be my number one choice for a session.

Bottle. This is a really crisp and refreshing beer - it would probably be a lot better drank in the sunshine instead of a cold February night.

Bottle - Pale Yellowy Gold in colour. Hoppy; grassy hops; some hop bitterness. Fruity; slightly fruity; but didn’t detect any strawberries. Malty; light malts, caramel. Crisp. Mildly bitter fruity hops meet sweetish malts. OK. Easy Drinking.
