Pours black with a mid-coarse tan head, light coffee and bubblegum aromas. Full bodied and dry, roasty bitter with faint notes of plain chocolate, tobacco and heavy red wine, burnt-bitter finish with a very slight metallic note.

26th May 2012 Opaque dark brown - black beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light. Mellow dark malt, tangy with a touch of roast. Mild bubblegum ester. Dry finish. Okay.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ThirstyBird (418) - Düsseldorf, GERMANY - FEB 22, 2013
Pours opaque black/brown with a brown head that falls to a skim. Smell is roasted malt, chocolate, molasses. The taste is roasty and dry, a bit of bitter chocolate. It ends dry, roasty and slightly bitter. The body is medium and the carbonation is active and finely structured - pretty smooth. Overall a decent beer that boast a lot of roast.

Nice penguin looks to it, very black and white. Stouty aroma with fairly stouty smooth flavour. Nice roast barley kick with some sweet to smooth it up, and a good dose of fruit. Actually, this is surprisingly spicy and fruity for a stout-like beer.

50cl bottle @ home. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized light brown head that leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma of malts, chocolate, lightly hops, lightly a citrus touch and some roastyness. Taste malts, barley, roastyness, slightly liquorice, light to moderately orange peel. Medium body, low to medium carbonation.

Dark, malty chocolate, Beige head. Nice lacing. Quite cream tasting although slightly watery. Coriander and orange come through at the finish. Nice but a bit too carbonated for me.

More coffee than choc but a nice bit of both. Bit thin. Tasty though, really glad I got.

0.5l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a clear dark brown one with a small bubbly light beige top. It smells quite nice this. Nice roasted sweetness with brown sugar, coffee, malt and good quality chocolate. Really nice, and it tastes just as nice. Soft gentle and balanced. It has chocolate, coffee, brown caramel and a really balanced bitterness. Ends with a soft burned and roasted finish and aftertaste. One of the better I’ve had from these guys. 09.01.2013
