Aroma is quite hoppy and zesty with a hint of ash too. Initially it has hop freshness then the roasted bitter malts come through.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Pours a deep brown, near-black body with a small light beige head. Nose is light licorice and milk chocolate, aniseed-like herbal tones and some lactic hints. Taste is filter coffee, toffee, milk chocolate, dark malts and some herbal traces. Slightly thin palate, yet smooth. A bit plain - especially for using spices - but a fair enough stout, all in all.

Poured dark black with a frothy tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate and roasted malt. Full bodied with flavour similar to the aroma with some extra roasted coffee. Dry. lingering aftertaste.

500 mL bottle from Asda into a pint glass. Black, with a bubbly head. Lovely chocolate/coffee aroma. Nice smooth roast and chocolatey taste. A hint of spice. Goes down well.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Valkendorfgaten, Bergen. Pours dark brown, as Coke with a big creamy off-white head. Strong roasted malt aroma, some herbs and spicy notes as well. Taste is smooth, with a creamy mouthfeel, liquorice and roasted malts, lingering roast, good one.

Bottle. Pours black, with a finger thick head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, caramel and some fruity hops. Full body with a rather slick texture and soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet with burned malts, bitter chocolate and dark syrup, as well as some dark fruits and some nice hoppy bitterness through the finish.

500ml bottle - Thin tan head. Clear black pour. Chocolate aroma and taste. Not bad effort...

500ml bottle carried back home from the Cave in Glasgow and shared with Finn. Fawn-coloured head to a rosewood coloured body – very nice, indeed. Spotty lacing to the glassware. Grainy chocolate malts to the nose. Flavoured with semi-sweet chocolate malts, alongside notes liquorice and lactose. Rounded and dry ending with distant roastiness Pleasing (Tromsø, 20.09.2012).

Flaske 0,5l spandert av Rune og delt med ham under rateseanse hos ham 20 Sep 12. Egentlig svart men i sterkt lys slipper det en dyp rødfarge igjennom. Svakt farget kremaktig skum som fester seg godt til glasset. God sjokoladearoma. Smaken er sammensatt: Sjokolade & lakris. Antydning til bær i ettersmaken. Bra men uspennende.

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Dark red-amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter nice roasted/chocolate flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate.
