Midnight Sun is a black porter style beer, created from a blend of malted barley, oats, roasted barley and chocolate malt, balanced with a generous handful of hops and a wee bit of fresh root ginger. We really like it and hope you do too!

Loved this little gem. Set aside the low head retention and your in for a treat. Striking aromas of chocolate and citrus. The fullness of the flavours are of sweet chocolate, treacle and molasses. It’s not typically heavy for the style which is not a downside. Sweet hops to finish. A well structured and flavour balanced novelty. Love the cool label too.

Butelka. Aromat czekoladowy, kawowy, karmelowy, palony. W smaku jest gorzka czekolada, kawa, delikatny mleczny posmak. Piwo jest aksamitne.

Really really dark black with a small traditional bottled porter tan head. Nice aroma. Lovely taste of porter but less coffee and more dark chocolate, with a hint of mild ginger finish but not noticeably spicy as label might suggest.

Bottle 500 ml at home, poured into a snifter, ABV 5.6% Pours totally black, with one finger of thick tan head sitting on top, good retention and medium lacing left around the glass. Very nice aroma witth oats, light chocolate, the ginger notable giving an extra refreshing touch, some hoppy notes as well. Taste follows the aroma, there are some light chocolate notes that quickly get replaced by roasted malts, the ginger is there but not spicy at all so that’s an extra, it still gives that clean, refreshing touch though. Mildly bitter aftertaste. Medium thin body but taking the alcohol level into account is more than okay, carbonation is low, quite dry on the palate. Overall a very good porter, the ginger definitely gives a little something in there, all in all very drinkable.

500 ml bottle obtained in Hetta by Elisabeth and tasted at rating session 210512. Nearly impenetrable but clear black body with an off-white head and nice lacing. A good-looking brew to be sure. Aroma and flavour are similar to each other, both a pleasant mixture of smoke, wet ash and charred caramel and malts. Palate is full-bodied and rich, very comfortable in mouth. All in all this beer neatly brings together a feeling of an enjoyable evening spent by the side of a fireplace in some remote, old and moist cabin.

A good porter, not a special taste but easy to drink... A good start but not very long....

Standard dark aroma with a little fruitiness. Taste is reasonable but playing it a bit safe I’d say, can’t really get the ginger, good mouthfeel but the flavour leaves some to be desired, a bit commercial tasting, I think they would benefit from bottle conditioning.

Bottle 500 ml from Hyperboissons - Doubs (F). Porter more roasted and coffee than chocolate, smoked note. It’s soft and sweetened without excess, with acidity and fruity but a little rough. Roasted malt, toffy-licorice, coffee, bitter chocolate, spices, bitterness and pungent note. A good beer but lacks a little depth and length, probably because of the low alcohol.

Bottle @ Setka Pub, Poznań. Pours cloudy very dark brown with small tan head. Clear aroma of fruit, malt & caramel. Bitter, roasty flavour, with notes of coffee beans and malt, touches of ginger, and hints of hops. Medium carbonation. Nice.
