Midnight Sun is a black porter style beer, created from a blend of malted barley, oats, roasted barley and chocolate malt, balanced with a generous handful of hops and a wee bit of fresh root ginger. We really like it and hope you do too!

500ml bottle pours virtually black with small tan head fading to cap. Roasted nutty malt and some ginger on the nose. Some licorice comes through on the taste and that ginger works wonderfully; just enough so you know its there but not so much that it crushes everything else. Really silky smooth Mouthfeel and good level of carbonation; I find many porters just too flat. A beer I will enjoy again.

Casi negra, con buena espuma ligeramente beige. Mucho aroma, a café y malta tostada. En boca muy sabrosa, con toques de vainilla, café y especias. Con adecuada carbonatacion y final con mezcla de dulce y amargo. Notable.

500 ml bottle with a BB date of July 2016. Looks great, with a generous tan head over an essentially black body. Full body with medium+ but soft carbonation. but .. the aroma is unappealing. My initial impression was that the ale was infected, but with further consideration I’ve concluded it is just an unfortunate mix of the roasted grains and the fresh ginger root. The flavor follows. O: disappointing.

Aroma: Medium coffee, dry fruits, light lemon, Appearance: Dark brown body. Small, creamy, light-brown head. Good retention. Lacing. Flavour: Medium-light chocolate, toasty, Medium bitterness, light sweetness. Light astringency. Light toasty. Dry finish, lingering chocolate, husky, and light astringency. Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium-high carbonation, creamy. Husky astringency. Overall: The astringency is a bit too strong. But the overall beer is good. 500 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre! 12B. Robust Porter
