Midnight Sun is a black porter style beer, created from a blend of malted barley, oats, roasted barley and chocolate malt, balanced with a generous handful of hops and a wee bit of fresh root ginger. We really like it and hope you do too!

Black is the night! ans a low tan head to go with it. aroma chocolate and roasted malt, hops also noticeable. Taste chocolate (nothing sweet) to roasted coffee, earthy hops, though I don’t get much ginger. Dry coffee lasting aftertaste. Creamy med+ body.

Bottle, 500 ml. Pours opaque dark brown/black with a think sheen of medium tan head. Decent lacing. Aroma mostly of roasted malts and wholemeal bread, with a damp, earthen edge. Not particularly potent on the nose overall however. Roasted malts again prominent in the taste though this time they’re joined by hints of dark chocolate along with an unexpected amount of herbal, perhaps almost vegetable notes, and some other cereals. Bitter overall and more hops coming through later on leave a bit of a tingle on the tongue, and the root ginger advertised on the bottle is detectable here as well; a decent spicy aftertaste to round things off. Could be more exiting on the palate as the body is thinner than it could be, though aforementioned spicy tingle, present despite the general lack of carbonation, is notable and brings this up a few points. Decent easy drinking with a few surprises to keep one interested in the matter.

Bottle from Rudat in Dortmund. The beer has got a deep black colour with an airy head and medium body. Aroma of malt and torf. Taste of roasted malt, dark bread, torf, woods, leaves and coffee. Hints of earth and chocolate. easy to drink, yet I missed some deepness.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe [170115]
Black, large frothy tan head, good lacing
Aroma of roasted malts, some roast coffee, soft spicy, slight savoury notes, slight hint of smoke, dab of dark bitter chocolate
Taste of dark malts, plain chocolate, getting a touch of ginger, touch of dark fruit, really tasty dark malts, fairly complex flavour
Palate - soft carb, medium body, soft sweet, smooth, good body. Finish of smooth dark malts, some dark bitter chocolate
Overall - On cask this is better. Always liked this, surprised I haven’t rated this. The spicy ginger works well here as it is subtle. One of their best beers.

WYGLĄD: Barwa ciemnobrązowa z rubinowymi refleksami. Piana beżowa, drobnopęcherzykowa, dość trwała, oblepia szkło. AROMAT: Na pierwszym planie paloność słodowa , aromat masła orzechowego, przyprawowość (Imbir), lekki aromat surowych warzyw strączkowych, (fasola, groszek), minimalna wędzoność, w tle czekolada. SMAK: Paloność i delikatna wędzoność, bardzo delikatny imbirowy posmak. Dobrze pijalne.

Some yeast aroma. A tint of blood in a dark stout robe. Its black and white label suggesting mountainous adventure lead me to expect a tough stout experience. It’s rather a brokeback mountain expedition with a ladylike stout. Don’t get me wrong. It’s worth drinking and enjoyable. Its roots tasting roasted malt will accompany all the way through your journey.

Pretty good, especially for being relatively low alcohol. Only drawback was that I could taste it despite not being high alcohol content. Otherwise a good malty aroma. Good thick smooth creamy malty body with hints of chocolate. No real coffee notes in this which is refreshing!

BOTTLE. shared RW.Black pour with light tan head. Dark berries & spices on the nose. Real silky texture to start with dark malts, which carried through to the backend with the dark berries. Better the warmer it got Sourced Cape Cellars
