3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pours an almost black with a light tan head which lasts. Aroma was a caramel or burnt toffee. Taste off dark chocolate, coffee, molasses, hint of ginger and a spiciness all goes to make a rather nice porter.

Some yeast aroma. A tint of blood in a dark stout robe. Its black and white label suggesting mountainous adventure lead me to expect a tough stout experience. It’s rather a brokeback mountain expedition with a ladylike stout. Don’t get me wrong. It’s worth drinking and enjoyable. Its roots tasting roasted malt will accompany all the way through your journey.

Pretty good, especially for being relatively low alcohol. Only drawback was that I could taste it despite not being high alcohol content. Otherwise a good malty aroma. Good thick smooth creamy malty body with hints of chocolate. No real coffee notes in this which is refreshing!

BOTTLE. shared RW.Black pour with light tan head. Dark berries & spices on the nose. Real silky texture to start with dark malts, which carried through to the backend with the dark berries. Better the warmer it got

Very decent porter, lovely Matt black colour, with liquorice and chocolate notes, and a decent abv giving it a good mouthfeel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Piękny aromat mlecznej czekolady, gorzkiego kakao i zbożowej kawy. Świetna piana i nieprzejrzysta czerń.
W smaku lekko kwaskowate od słodów, z mocno czekoladową bazą, aksamitne, lekko mleczne. Na finiszu fajna, lekka goryczka.
Bardzo dobre, nieprzesadzone w żadną stronę piwo.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Black colour, small brown head, very good lacing. Nose is very intensive dark chocolate and coffee. Mouth is quite gentle, not too roasty, dominated by intensive liquorice. Light sweetness, light bitterness. Light carbonation, medium body. Not bad, but not the kind of porter I like.

After a long day this was a pleasant surprise. Not as powerful as I thought it should be based on the claim, but it was within range and otherwise a great experience

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
At cellar temperature and into a snifter. Bountiful, well-fuelled inch and a half of satin sheened, cappuccino foam atop an inky black body. Kelp and sautéed nori slivers greet the nose with underlying hints of roasted carob, roasted mushroom, Marmite and kecap manis - interesting!
And theni it’s gone. Chalky, carbonate palate; quite soft and mellow with little carbonation and a smooth finish. Again the nori dominates with enough roast, bitter burnt malts to crack the code. Length is all roasted, charred malts, but so subdued. Feels restrained. Hops and ginger didn’t make the party. Average stuff! (50cL, BBE 03/15, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)
