Midnight Sun is a black porter style beer, created from a blend of malted barley, oats, roasted barley and chocolate malt, balanced with a generous handful of hops and a wee bit of fresh root ginger. We really like it and hope you do too!

Århus2008. 50 cL bottle. Pours nicely dark brown to black with a lacing tan head. Mild roasted malt aroma with a minor spice note, very inviting. Flavour holds a subdued ginger flavour swept i roasted malt and caramel (not malty as such - real caramel). Smooth and nice. Light bitterness and acidic touch into the finish. Another nice Williams brew, yet not a fruity one!

Bottled at Ølfestival, Århus, 2008. A pitch black beer with a tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of soy sauce, and so is the flavor though added notes of ginger and hops.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Quite much pitch black colour with mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some chocolate, mild wood as well as some chocolaty notes. Flavour is dark dry fruits, roasted malts, coffee and chocolate along with some mild wooden notes as well.

(Bottle 50 cl) Warm orangey brown with a reddish hue and a small, beige head. Sweetish hard roasted malt in the nose. Medium body, sweetish hard roasted or even lightly burned malt with a whiff of coffee and distinct ginger notes. Sweetish malt bitter finish. Not bad as such, but I’m not really sure that I like ginger in my Porter. 121008

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Mild cinnamon aroma. Dry, creamy and roasty. Medium bodied with some dark chocolate coming through as it warms. Salty licorice bitterness. Really pleasant.

22nd June 2008. The root ginger works well giving this otherwise mild porter a dense herby flavour.

Bottle at home ... THe first thing to say is it just isnt as good as the cask ... Deep black ... Nice roast coffee malt nose ... rich full flavour of mild coffee and liquorice with the ginger in the linger... A decent stout.
