Midnight Sun is a black porter style beer, created from a blend of malted barley, oats, roasted barley and chocolate malt, balanced with a generous handful of hops and a wee bit of fresh root ginger. We really like it and hope you do too!

50cl bottle. Pours almost black with a small beige-brown head. Aroma is sweet, coffee, roasted, some sweetness like it’s combined with an ale. Flavor is medium roasted malt, coffee, sweet. Very very good porter.

Bottle at the DISOB tasting, Den Haag. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin off-white head. The aroma is dry and earthy, leading to a medium to strong bitter flavour with loads of liqourice, coffee and dark chocolate. The palate is somewhat smooth and the bitterness lingers well into the aftertaste. A very tasty and refreshing beer.

Head: beige/cofee, small, quite creamy, avg. retention. Colour: almost black (technically really dark amber). Aroma: hoppy, citrus (surprisingly for a porter). Taste: coffee, roasted, aromatic hops again, zesty. The finish is roasted and zesty. No ginger detected. A surprising porter - never seen one with such a strong citrus aroma.

Near-black beer with a frothy head. Slightly sweet scent with a toasted edge to it. Taste is toasted malt, a touch of chocolate along with the oaty-ness and some underlying fruit as well. Slightly lively on the tongue. It’s not thin or watery but it doesn’t have the body I was expecting either. Very nice.

Appearance: near black, with dark brown edging and a short, fizzy light tan head and minimal lacing. Aroma: bitter dark chocolate predominates, with some coffee, a bit of star anise and green tea. Taste: dry, bittersweet chocolate, with a hint of crème fraiche, green wood, and burnt toast. Finish: smooth and dry, with a light and prickly mouth. Notes: Delicious porter. Smooth, creamy yet light palate, with great traditional porter flavors. Nice one.

Delicious beer. A very dark brown with red glimmers and cream head. Coffee, liquorice and roasted malt on the nose, fairly thick in the mouth, residual sugars, full bodied taste reminiscent of brandy, slight salty liquorice note. One worth seeking out.
