3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask by handpump, shared with Finn at The National Winter Ales Festival. Bubbly ring to the edge of the glass. Almost jet black in body appearance. Earthy malts and grain to the nose, semi-sweet. Roasted malty taste joined by hints of chocolate and ginger. Bittersweet finish, half-dry. A well balanced and likeable brew (Manchester, 23.01.2013).

Gravicask (PBBF2012, Thurs)
Blackberry sharp aroma. Sour. Black, tiny head. Sharp, itter, and sour in teh taste. Crisp palate, because it’s sour. No. Not good. Does show off signs of being a good beer, but the bottle did that eaerlier already. Shame. Should rerate a fresh sample.

Dry stout (why is this called a porter on Ratebeer?) has some good chocolate and the like but is less fruity to me than their March of the Penguins, and I preferred that one just a big more. (cask at the Scottish Real Ale Festival, Edinburgh, June 2012)
