4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUN 5, 2012 In bottle at home. Pours a beautiful amber colour with a thick, rocky beige head. Aroma of mandarins, spruce, treacle, alcohol and pine. Mandarin, grapefruit and spruce flavours compete wonderfully to give a vibrant, bitter orange character that tails off to a warming alcohol hum. The linger reminds me of orange bitters with moderate carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Superb! Also had this at The Holyrood 9A. Lots of strawberries all round and quite bitter.

1 litre bottle as a Christmas Present:
This one was a truly excellent Christmas beer from Williams Brothers, the beer is up there with the best of the seasonal offerings I have tried and really went down a treat. There was a tonne of hops and plenty of fruity, bitter flavours that surprised me at just how good it was, Iíll definitely be on the look out for this one again next year.

Warm spicy aroma, red amber in colour with a small dense head. Cake and spice flavour, slightly nutty, malty and would be good with food.

Bottle from Peckhamís in Glasgow.
Unseasonal but lovely Christmas ale. Like sucking on a Christmas tree* in February. Biggest compliment I can give is that my beer hating other half really liked this.
*DISCLAIMER: I have never actually sucked on a Christmas tree but I imagine it would taste like this.

Smaczne piwo z niewielka pianka, metnoscia srednia. Koloru zloto pomaranczowego, pachnacego intensywnie cytrusami, limonka i brzoskwinka z lekka nuta cukru. W smaku gozkawo cytrusowe, swierze i powiewne, pasuje na wiosenna aure. Jedyny minus to zbyt wyczuwalny alkohol.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
1 litre bottle, of course! Pours a honey/amber with a nicely proportioned head. The nose has of mandarins, biscuits and green leaves. The taste has biscuits, sweet spices and wow, a big strawberry sauce note that runs to the end (like you get on whipped ice cream!). The palate is well balanced with richness at the start but a gradual long elegant finish.
They should brew this regulary - itís one of the best Scottish beers Iíve ever tasted!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Keg @ Southern, Edinburgh 191212
Golden amber, clear, thin white head
Aroma is very fruity, rich quite intense berry aromas, not a whiff of booze, mellow intense fruits, great aroma
Taste as aroma, getting soft pine but its main very berry fruity, sweet mellow and intense, sweet resinous, not a very complex beer but very nice, some light soft toffee caramel malts in the background
Palate - Medium carb and body. The keg dispense is working here, that bit of fizz stopping it from being cloying. Finish as main flavour, a little dry, touch of bitterness
Overall - Seems to get mixed reviews here. I did like it a lot more than I thought I was going to.
