COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Profanity Stout is the first in the Williams Bros ’chapeau’ series, in which we celebrate the skills of amateur brewers whose beers we think are exceptoinal and should be made available to a wider audience. With Profanity Stout we doff our caps to Peter and Craig, the ’Balls to the Wall’ brewing duo, who developed this recipe as students on the brewing course at Edinburgh’s Heriot Watt University. The beer is a blend of rich coffee and intensely fruity hop aromas on a base of full velvety malty mouthfeel.

Bottle shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized, fairly quickly diminishing beige to light brown head. Aroma of malts, some hops, slightly some fruits. Taste malts, lightly bitter, lightly hops and some dark fruits. A bit thin texture, ok body, decent carbonation.

Bottle. Dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. Roasted malt in the aroma with notes of coffee and some fruitiness. Flavor is dry roasted malt, coffee, hops and licorice. Medium body, quite high carbonation. Dry and bitter aftertaste.

Bottle from Bierzwerg!
Pours deep black reddish with flat creamy head. Smells chocolatey with roasted coffee. Starts massively malty with lots of roasted malts and chocolate. Middle part has lots of bitter roasted malts and some sweet chocolate. Goes into a malty-roasty finish with some chocolate. Really a great Stout!

Bottle from De Molen online shop. Dark brown body with thin head. Nose is hoppy, chocolate, dark fruits, roasted malts. Taste is hoppy up front, then gets warmer and maltier. Very silky and slick texture. Dark chocolate and coffee in the finish, as well as vanilla. Nice one.

Present from Merino, thx! Reddish oak wood brown, no head to speak of. Some hard candy on the nose, liquorice. Little sweet to start, but the dry hopping quickly kicks in with the dark coffee roast, and salmiak. Not to heavy also, well balanced.

very dark brown colour, brown, long lasting creamy head;aroma of roasted malt, dried fruits and some chocolate; taste of roasted malt, citrus-notes and not too intensive hoppy bitterness; ok but a bit watery considering that it inteds to be an imperial stout

Bottle. Dark, chocolate maltiness with lots of licorice, coupled with hoppy notes - resin, white grapes and pineapple. It becomes less hoppy and more deep malty as it warms up. Moderately bodied with crisp hoppy notes and a tartish taste. For an imperial stout this one is really light and refreshing, Finish with notes of coffee and earth. Very good.

Pours very dark with brown, low but longlasting and creamy head. a is coffee, dark chocolate, licorice with good roasty notes. Alcohol is sometimes present in very good way. Maltiness is good, but definetly not on imperial level, not to mention the hop character which is rather low to medium - again too low for imperial. Sweetness is pleasant and balanced with roasty aromas. Body is high medium to full (but to low for imperial). Carbonation low and very pleasant. Very good stout, though i would not call it imperial.

Buona!

Gorgeous malty stout with more than a hint of licorice, coffee and dark chocolate. Very smooth and easy to drink for it’s 7.5%.
