Cask from Growler Beers. Dark brown body with no head. Mild aroma of liqourice, plum and wood. Flavour of milk chocolate, dark fruits, coffee and roasted malt. Thin body with a flat, slightly oily mouthfeel. A bit thin but a reasonably tasty beer.

Cask at The Bow Bar. Pours a black colour with a thin white head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt and black chocolate. Similar flavours with rum and raisin chocolate and a roasted espresso coffee linger. Mild carbonation, light CO2 prickle and an oily mouth-feel.

Cask at Nobles. Looked great. Pours black and waits for the head to settle. Though I’d landed a winner. Initially tasted and felt it to be a bold roasted flavour but gradually, going back to my pint became a tangy chore. Order a half.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2011 On cask @ Berts Bar, Edinburgh. It pours somewhere between ruby and chestnut and there is a thin but agreeable looking head. The nose is largely of toffee and grapes. The taste has toffee, raisins and some chocolate. The palate has a medium sized structure with an average texture in the middle section and the finish is clean. Overall, a lovely beer !

Cask @ Bert’s Bar, Edinburgh. Sour vegetable aroma. Mahogany brown colour, good head. Sweet vegetable caramel malt flavour. Smooth with bitter sweet aftertaste. I was pleased to finde a new style of Williams Brothers beer but this just didn’t do it fir me.

Cask @ Bert’s Bar. Dark brown colour, off-white head. Nose is roasted malts, bit of tar and molasses. Flavour is roasted malts, tar, some sweet roastiness, little smoke. Very drinkable although on the sweet side.
