Bottled (BBE 06/2010). Pale amber color, small, mostly vanishing white head. Nutty hoppy, a bit toffeish nose. Hard mouthfeel. Woody malty flavor, underlying diacetylic notes. Boring and watery brew. More an pale ale/bitter than an ESB. Beer’s recipe is more exciting in theory than in practise.

Bottle from Tesco Southport, pours a pale orange, good head with nice lacing on the glass, aroma of fruits which leads onto a very subtle tangerine flavours in the mouth mixed in with an almost grassy taste, finishes with some citrus

(Bottled) Slightly hazy golden with a small, big-bubbly and mostly fading head. Aroma of caramely, pale malt and some lemony-aromatic hops. Flowery-aromatic-hoppy flavor with caramely and pale malts, some hop bitterness, vegetably diacetyl, and a slightly sour, soapy finish. Light to medium body with lowish carbonation. In a way this is interesting, but overall really not that pleasant.

Pale orange, almost no head. Sweet fruity aroma, light malts too. Quite crisp, but also a touch watery. Some woolly socks - very nice and complex. Lovely tangy finish Very easy drinker, crisp and hoppy.

500ml bottle from Tesco, Andover. Bright copper with a thin cream head and light carbonation; fragrant toffee aroma; full chewy malt flavours - very pleasant, not too sweet; and a clean finish. Very drinkable.

500ml bottle from Tesco, Byfleet. Attractive looking completely clear copper colour. Thin off white head, that lasts. but throws little lacing. Elderflower hoppy aroma, really is very hedgerow and rather pleasing. It’s got some fullness in the mouth, some dryness, some definite lemon zesty peel and a bit more elderflower. Really quite stinging in the finish. Pleasant? Yes, a good strong bitter with some lovely elderflower overtones. Would love to try this on cask and get the full effect. The filtering has neutered the malts somewhat and given it that metallic carbonation. Still a decent and flavoursome beer.

Bottled version, Amber coloured beer with some light carbonation and a small off-white head. Roasted malty fruity aroma with a full palate. FInish is malty bitter, with a longer dry bitter touch. Nice one.
