Really descent beer. Pours amber with good carbonation. Aroma is quite floral. Strong malty backbone with a hoppy elderflower finish. Very well balanced. Thoroughly enjoyed

Bottled. Golden colour, white head. Herbal hop nose along with lemon grass. Lemon grass is also outspoken and dominates the flavour, which is pretty light. Bit of toffee. Grass and herbal nuances in the finish, which add a solid marked bitterness. Nice beer but not complex.

500 ml bottle from Fenwicks, Newcastle served at carriage temperature on a warm day on the 4.30pm train from Sunderland to Hexham. We had a bottle opener, but no glasses, so supped directly from the bottle. (Hence the relatively MOR scores for aroma and appearance, and high score for overall enjoyment). My pal Mal supplied the beer, and a bijou picnic of nettle cheese, salami and bruschetta. I would say the beer lived up to it’s blurb, and was a fine accompaniment to the picnic. Citrus particularly prominent, medium bodied, soft carbonation, all round nice stuff. A good start to a good evening, I suspect under different circumstances, I might have rated this closer to 4; will re-rate when appropriate.

50cl bottle, as pictured. Pours a clear yellow golden with a small, offwhite head. No lacing. Fruity aroma of peach, yeast and lemon. Medium-bodied blonde ale (not a bitter nor esb) with a surprisingly crisp, thick mouth feel. Medium carbonation. Peach is very noticeable as a fruit flavor in this beer, but healthy, citrusy hops and a strong note of malt keep things from getting too sweet. Oaky middle and finish, with a lingering dry, hoppy after taste. A very agreeable beer from the Williams Brothers, much more likeable than the same company’s not-dissimilar "Joker". Very well balanced between fruity sweetness and hoppy freshness, eminently drinkable. Lovers of English IPA will find much to like here, too.

Golden beer with a bigh white head leaving lacings as it slowly fades. Aroma has light fresh notes of citrus, lemongrass, hay and flowers. The body is light but crisp and refreshing. Cookies and bread. Almost too drinkable.
