presario (2390), Calgary, Alberta, Canada May 6, 2008 Can. Dark straw. Light carbonation. Not sure if I have had a Perry before, I will have to check. Kind of a creamy light pear scent. Not very sweet, kind of tart which is good. Kind of dry pear flavour. OK. Although judging from the other scores I may have to search out other examples to develop a frame of reference.
cyrenaica (265), Milton, Ontario, Canada Jul 19, 2008 500ml can
6.0% ABV
I tried this cider on July 4, 2008 after purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlet. The cider poured a very pale yellow with a loose bubbly head that disappeared quickly. The aroma is mild pear. The mouthfeel is highly carbonated, light, and almost champagne like. The taste is sour pears, and almost has a white wine feel/taste to it. Very dry. radiomgb (1720), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jun 15, 2008 Very light golden in colour, no head, no lacing. The aroma was lightly acidic, some white grapes, apples and very light alcohol. The flavour is quite sweet, some grapes and some white wine. Sugary mouthfeel, light body, high carbonation. Finishes long and sweet, dry.
This was out of date what I purchased this but I’d still like to try more perries.
500ml can from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario.
Opened on December 27, 2007.
No date.
Lubiere (3153), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jun 10, 2008 A thin yellowish perry with a thin big bubbled white head. Aroma is lightly sulfurous, rotten fruits, spoiled. In mouth, a sweet refreshing carbonated pear juice, light acidic points, does the trick on this humid plus 30C day. Can from LCBO, bougt a year ago. So it keeps well (I’m very positive about canning). Enniskillen (1536), Port Angeles, Washington, USA May 5, 2008 Gold body, thin white head. Aroma is pears, light malt like accent. Taste is watery pear juice with too much carbonation.
