Starts with good fullness and fine carbonation with ample sweetness and loads of juicy piney hops before a slightly drier bittersweet finish. Great hop profile, yet well-balanced.

22 oz. bottle, pours a mostly clear golden copper with a small off-white head. Nose bursts of tropical fruit, with passion fruit, pineapple and mango, citrus hops, bitter orange and grapefruit peel, and sweet caramel malt. Flavour also bursts of the same tropical fruits, but amplified with truckloads of hops -- begins with mango, pineapple and passion fruit, resinous and citrus hops, and a nice caramel malt backing. Extremely full-bodied with the tropical fruits and citrus hops scorching the palate to perfection. Masterpiece of a IIPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 crossovert (4552) - Wisconsin, USA - APR 4, 2012
650ml bottle.
It pours a clear amber with a foamy white head.
Luckily though it is decently old (for an IPA) the smell is still there. It is definitely hinting more malty though. There is some sweet tropical notes and some citrus rind. The malt is sweet smelling with some bread and caramel.
The flavor is nice. Good hop flavors with a biting bitterness, it has no shortness of that. But I think the hops could be a bit better, more of a slap of citrus. This one is more of a pine one which I like, but it isn’t really complex. The malt isn’t as prevalent in the flavor but leaves a bit of a balancing sweetness.
I have some chili john’s cooking, this is going to be a perfect pair.
