Dark brown color; small creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, roasted nuts, light vanilla. Good body strength, with sweet rich flavor of caramel, malt, some chocolate; the oxidisation is almost absent; it has a good bitterness level.
Very good.

Bottled. An unclear dark red beer with dark a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, roasted malt, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, over ripe friuts, and roasted malt, leading to a dry finish. Thanks fiiulijn for sharing.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a hazy orangey brown with a creamy and lacing beige head. Nutty aroma, burned caramel, oxidized. Rich body, nutty and toffeeish, overripe fruit, again oxidized. Some warming alcohol and hops, but no crisp hop character. More of a British Barley Wine. 160912

Cloudy brown beer. No head. Silky palate which is a little soft but with a carbonated bite. Toffee caramel malt with an aged malt chocolate aspect. Fresh hops integrate well. Pine and a little grapefruit. Finishes soft and with mild bitterness. Very drinkable indeed. Another very decent beer from this brewery.

Thanks to someone for sharing this at the May Freetail bottle release. The beer pours a dark copper color with a small white head. The aroma has a lot of resin from the hops, but I also get some brown sugar notes. Not quite what I expected since the beer smells more like a hoppy American Barleywine than a Double IPA. The flavor is more of the same. There is a lot of toffee and caramel as well as some bitter pine notes and some brown sugar. The alcohol is definitely noticeable, giving the beer a barleywine-like flavor. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. The beer is still good, but with the age it now has on it, it is not really an IPA at this point.

Bottle thanks to Butters. 0271 of 2008 which from the description I’m assuming is a 2008 vintage. Pours a hazy brown-red-orange with a dark beige head. It took a vigorous pour but did produce a lasting finger of foam. The aroma is big, like a foot away from the glass big. Lots of caramel, toffee, fruity, apple, then some citrusy hops, and a twinge of alcohol. Taste is very spicy bitter, lots of fruity malt, apple, toffee, a touch of age, oxidation and alcohol in the finish. Very americanbarleywineish at this point.
