COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An Imperial Porter brewed with a Haitian sugar called Rapadou. Rapadou is a traditionally processed cane sugar that lends a great toffee caramel flavor to our 8.5% ABV Porter. Watch for this one aged in oak barrels in the future. Limited edition of 2007 bottles.

Draft. Pours medium black, lively carbonation, spotty lacing. Nose is cocoa, florals, tar, smoke, coffee, earth. Flavours are very chocolatey and toffeeish, plus earth, tar, spice, very balanced, long finish.

Pours a deep black color with a thin light brown head. Aroma of chocolate and soy. The flavor has chocolate and soy, it’s very astringent and dry, there’s also some bitterness, overall, the flavor is unpleasant. The body is medium with a chalky texture and soft carbonation.

Bottle shared at a Tampa crew tasting 7-22-2010. Very dark body. Bitter chocolate, coffee and roasty goodness. Solid porter.

bottle 314/2007 courtesy of mr. cbk on 3/21/2010. dark orange tinted brown with a small tannish head. the nose is full on brown sugar ... mixed with roast, chocolate, vanilla, coffee-like toasted nuttiness and a touch of hoppy spice. the flavor follows the same route... brown sugar, vanilla, cream, cocoa, coffee, warming spices and peppery with a mild bitterness on the finish. it is surprisingly quite dry. the medium body is crisp and creamy. that combo makes it very drunkable... 8/4/8/4/17/4.1

Bomber shared by cbkschubert at Hellbilly’s Shootout in Sosco Tasting. Pours dark reddish brown with a thin tan head. The nose is brown sugar, cocoa and roasted malt. The taste is toasted coffee beans, ashy cocoa, baker’s chocolate and a bitter coffee finish. Medium semi-creamy mouthfeel. Good stuff - thanks Craig!

Pours black with beige head. Aroma of huge caramel, dark bitter chocolate, roasted coffee, and milk sugar. Flavor or a heavy Baltic porter. All the usual qualities. Roasted coffee beans and cocoa are massive. Cream and alcohol in the finish. The apparent alcool flavor at the end is its major flaw

UPDATED: APR 4, 2010 Another one shared by cbkschubert @ Hellbilly’s...this one is a winner Craig!!! Mahogany brew with dark crimson highlights and a creamy eggshell head. Assertive cocoa in the nose and the chocolate is equally aggressive in the flavor. A bit of smoke and molasses add to the complexity of this one although it is a bit sugary. Velvety mouthfeel. Glad I could try it!!!

bottle courtesy of ksurkin, thanks! pours black with a nice spongy brown head that fades quickly. aroma is very sweet and earthy, lots of spices and vanilla, hints of bourbon even in this one. the taste is cloying sweetness at first, bit the finish and aftertaste make up for it with a really nice blend of flavors. the aftertaste is dry and bitter butter, which is nice after the cloying. nice progression of sweet to bold to bitter, all with a meduim full creamy body. good stuff, goes down easy.

bomber - bottle 288 of 2009; big thanks to ksurkin as this was part of a big porter trade; cracked at the HOTD dock sale; pours clear dark cola brown with thin tan head; lots of dark fruit, vanilla and chocolate cookies; drinks with sugary sweetness, brown sugar, caramel and coffee; nice roasted malts with yummy sweet coffee; bone dry finish; very impressive brew and I enjoyed this much more than their bourbon barrel impy porter; would love to get another bottle of this one; thanks Ken!!
