Commercial Description:
An Imperial Porter brewed with a Haitian sugar called Rapadou. Rapadou is a traditionally processed cane sugar that lends a great toffee caramel flavor to our 9% ABV Porter. Watch for this one aged in oak barrels in the future. Limited edition of 2007 bottles.

Pours an opaque oily black with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of lightly sweet dark caramel malts and some toasty earthy roasted malts. Starts fairly full and dark caramely malty sweet with a nice smoky balance and good dark fruity complexity before a drier bready earthy finish. A nice imperial porter.

Thick properly dark brown body with thick legs, viscous lacing and a oily texture, underneath a tan to dark tan head. Strange starchy, spicy bread in the nose, with strong notes of toffee and caramel. Moderately thick texture, surprisingly thick, actually, with a hefty dose of chocolate, toffee, coffee grounds, spiced wood? Very strange but very good – quite different I think than anything I’ve had before. Resembles a foreign stout with the level or roast combined with exotic spices and coffee and such.
