Springhouse is an aged Belgium Saison (Farmhouse Ale). 8% ABV, it pours gold-amber, is well carbonated but has a small to non existent head, and has a sweet fruity aroma with apples, green grapes and apricots the dominant taste. This is an interesting ale that deserves your attention.

Bottle: The aroma consists of citrus, light sweet tarts, apple, and faint yeast. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a two finger white head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thick ring. There is some thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with light-moderate citrus and light yeast. The finish has light-moderate orange peel, apple, faint sweet tarts, and spice/pepper. It’s light-medium bodied with moderate-lively carbonation.

Bottle: Clear amber body, really nice clarity with a soapy, fuzzy off-white layer of foam on top with a nice collar along the glass. Aroma is estery with some Belgian yeast notes, faint white wine, tart green apple, & just a light touch of cotton funk. Taste is a bit spicier with some clove, phenols, estery spice, & a moderate medicinal tone. Slight grassiness. Touch of gummy yeast, toasted bread, & a bit of farmhouse in the finish. Small touch of white grape. Semi-wet finish.

Bought at a beer store on a trip up through Virginia. Completely opaque, a bit sour, a bit chalky. Doesn't really inspire me to go back to Virginia. A million small bubbles. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz. bottle, from my secret Santa. Dated 10 April 2014. Cloudy, light yellow pour, with a big, bubbly, off-white head. Big banana aroma, with lemon, pear, riesling, cloves, and white sugar. Very sweet, with a light funk, and just a touch of bitterness. Medium to heavy body, sharp, bubbly, and a little dry. This is an excellent saison. Very complex and layered, with great fruity, yeasty, and (just a little) hoppy aromas. There’s a lot of residual sugar here. I kinda wish I’d let this bottle sit a few more months.

Bottle shared by Rob at July 4th hotel. Snifter. Pours an orange color with a thick head and some moderate lacing. Aroma of spices, light fruits, funky Belgian yeasts, and barnyard. The taste was light apricots and pears, Belgian yeasts, a little funk, hay, cereal and spice. Crisp carbonation, light and refreshing. Funky, almost tart finish.

Very good. Nicely balanced. Some bubble or hay here. Pours golden with good head and lacing. Finishes with light sourness and some tang. Tap at DC Beer festival.

Bottle shared by jayhawk73. Thanks Jeff! The beer is orange with a towering white head. The aroma brings some tart citrus, wheat, lemongrass, mild funk, sweet malt. Decent flavor. Crisp and zesty carbonation. Mildly sweet with light bittering hops in the finish. This was ok, but not what I seek in a beer of this ilk.

Picked this up as part of a set at the brewery in Williamsburg. The color is golden straw with a nice foamy head that laces nicely. Funky aroma as one would expect with this style. Taste is bitter with some citrus notes. Nice and effervescent. I like this brew. Nice drinkability.
