Bottle @ home. Pours opaque black with a medium, creamy dark tan head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is vanilla, fig, bourbon, toasted/charred oak, dates, plums, molasses, chocolate and roast malt with earthy coffee notes and spicy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with lightly sweet chocolate, figs, plums, dates, brown sugar, vanilla, oak, and bourbon with earthy coffee notes. This beer is well-balanced with light fermentation fruity esters and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation with medium alcohol warmth, light creaminess and no astringency.

Bottle opened by Blake, thanks! Pour is nearly black with a creamy tan head. Aroma and flavor loaded with coffee, roasted malt, and light vanilla tons of coffee but not obnoxious. Solid

bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a clear dark brown color with a minimal frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate, vanilla wood and bourbon alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy sweet wood and dark malt flavor with a heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.

Bottle at a bottle share. Pours a near black color with a small tan head on it. Nose has some huge coffee elements to it. Tastes very smooth with some great roasting and coffee notes in there. Huge fan of this one.

Bottle at home with friends, courtesy of Aaron. Thanks man! Pour is pitch black with a small brown head and decent lacing. Green peppers, coffee, dark chocolate, wood, a touch of vanilla, and graham crackers. Taste is big dark chocolate, oak, coffee, bourbon, a touch of spicy peppers, and roast with a toasty bitter finish. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Really tasty stout.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thanks to Aaron! Dark black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark fruit, chocolate, caramel, nice coffee, coffee bean, hints of espresso, slight green coffee as well. Taste is a mix of nice green espresso coffee bean, hints of caramel, toffee, slight earth, grain, touch of spice, slight chocolate, dark fruits, fnishing farily bitter.

Bottle @ Stephen’s house. Pours a deep brown, cloudy appearance with a thin brown head. Rich chocolate, delicious well roasted coffee, vanilla, sweet bourbon aroma. A touch fruity, rich dark chocolate, sweet coffee, vanilla, mild toffee, easy drinking bourbon flavor.

On tap at the first night of "43 hours of dark" at the Birch. Pours opaque black with a small brown head and decent lacing. Aroma is coffee and roasted malts, with notes of whiskey and something a bit musty. Flavor is the same, medium sweet with a strong coffee presence and not much bitterness. Medium body with a dry clean finish.
