"This is our Coffeehouse Stout amped up to 8% abv and aged for a couple of months in Virginia Gentleman Reserve Bourbon Barrels. Another unique AleWerks beer which blends the rich, coffee-milk stout flavors with those of vanilla and bourbon."

Bottle split with mdfb79. Thanks Dan. The beer is near black with a thick beige cap that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. The aroma brings a heavy dose of coffee, followed by chocolate, vanilla, light booze. I am a regular coffee drinker, and certainly appreciate a nice coffee aroma in an imperial stout. Nice flavor. Relatively sweet, with a pronounced milk presence. Almost sugary like chocolate milk. As in the aroma, coffee plays a major role, while the bourbon presence is subdued. Vanilla and coffee for the most part. I never found the sweetness to be cloying, and had no trouble with my half of the bomber. Medium bodied with appropriate carbonation. Fairly sweet, with prominent coffee throughout. Though the abv isn’t particularly high for a bourbon barrel stout, it is disguised gracefully here. Overall, I enjoyed this and would definitely have it again. Recommended. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 01-18-2012

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, alcohol, and coffee. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, coffee, vanilla, and roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted and coffee finish.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Elwood. Pours an opaque pitch black with a small light brown head. Both coffee and Bourbon comes through nicely in the nose. Rich and filling body, lowish carbonation. Sweet roast, quite some molasses and cocoa with the vanillaish Bourbon notes rounding things off perfectly. No real bitterness. Lovely. 221112

Pours jet black with a dark brown head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, oak, and coffee. Taste follows, coffee, vanilla, creamy chocolate and bourbon. Really tasty. Smooth, creamy and rich. Bourbon is present but not over the top, nice balanced BA stout ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

In bottle at Craig’s. Pours a very dark brown colour with a fair light tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, soy sauce, bourbon, caramel and alcohol. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Nice and dry with an oaky finish.
