Bottle. Pours black with no head. Aroma is almost all coffee. Taste is coffee forward and finishes with a strong roasted malt note. A little thin but very tasty.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Grape@Gourmet. Pours dark black with a small tan head that dissipates quickly with good lacing. Aroma is fairly standard roasty espresso, dark chocolate, touch of ashtray. Flavor follows, medium initial sweetness overtaken by assertive coffee bitterness. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Pretty decent beer!

Bottle. Overall a non thrilling stout that was a little thin and over carbonated. Some coffee but not as much as I expected. Just okay

Poured a taster at the local shop. Pours a dark brown, tan head. Aroma is typical stout, but there’s a real aroma of fine coffee in here. Taste is nice and you can really taste the high quality coffee in here, but it’s not overpowering or too bitter. Very nice.

Bottle as an awesome extra in trade. Thanks! First Virginia rate pours black with a small light brown or off white head. Huge coffee aroma just like a cup o' joe, some lactose like sweetness, a little cocoa, roasted malts. Mmmm. Flavor is very espresso forward, some lactose sweetness to balance out the super earthy bitter coffee, light chocolate and roast. This is sweet but nicely integrated with the earthy espresso. Loving the coffee and lactose sugar combo. Medium mouthfeel on the thinner side (not a knock, as this isn't an impy--plus I burned the shit out of my mouth today so it may be the carbonation on the burns that make it feel thinner as it is super smooth and rich on my lips and given the low ABV this has a nice body going on) with a nice velvety mouthfeel. There is some nice prickly carbonation on this.

Tried this stout at the same time that I was introduced to the Founders Breakfast Stout. Unfortunately it paled in comparison. Poured from tap into a snifter, this stout by WA provided an incredible coffee and chocolate aroma, however, the taste and mouthfeel were unable to match. Body was much too light resulting in the coffee and chocolate tones to seem watered down. This brew would benefit from a higher ABV and thicker body.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Black with a very fine point rim of light tan foam, black mirror atop otherwise. Smells of coffee, cocoa, more coffee and pretty much just cold coffee. Flavor is coffee, soil, some bitterness, a little bit of bread, some bits of unsweetened chocolate. Medium bodied with hi carb and an off dry finish; a little less body and a little much carb for the style. Overall decent, quite a bit of coffee which makes it one dimensional.

aroma of toasted malts, coffee, oatmeal cookies, earthy minerals. pours black with tanned foamy head. tastes of dark chocolate, coffee, club soda, earth, not milky but does taste like a latte. bitter palate but sweet tastes. palate is thin and watery, not thick enough for a stout. overall, a stout that is like a watery latte.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle to glass. Pours a pitch black color with a thin light brown head. Aroma is full of toasty malts, bold coffee notes, and a hint of vanilla sweetness. Flavor is a very well balanced roasted coffee bitterness with a creamy vanilla sweetness. Almost like coffee with milk and sugar. Light in body with a lingering bitter sweetness. Fantastic stout. Not too heavy and a perfect coffee presence.
