An American style unfiltered Wheat Ale. An effervescent and light ale, it is a refreshing summer afternoon thirst quencher. Wheat beer’s history goes back to the Pharaohs of Egypt. By the 16th century it was popular in Germany where it is usually served quite cold, and with a slice of lemon. American Wheat Beer, which can be traced to the colonial brewer’s need to stretch scarce European imported malt with adjuncts like wheat, has a less fruity, more balanced taste and finish than its German relative, the result of American hops and yeast.

THOUGHTS: Decent American wheat ale. A little more hoppy than I prefer a wheat beer, but it does make it interesting. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a hazy, dark, brownish amber with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma contained light to moderate wheat, light pine and citrus hops; light doughy yeast; slight bubble gum; citrus; and something like clay. The initial flavor was moderately acidic and slightly sweet; while the finish was moderately acidic, slightly sweet and lightly bitter with a short duration. There was citrus fruit, wheat, yeast, citrus hops and light pine hops. The light to medium body was somewhat dry with fizzy carbonation and a metallic finish.

Bottle. Very disappointed in this one. More like a Wheat Pale Ale than a Regular Wheat Ale. Had way too much hops for a "German" style Wheat Ale.

Pours a hazy gold-orange with thick white head. Aroma - spicy, grassy hop(?), some citrus. Taste - citrus, wheat. Short grassy/citrus finish.

Sampled from a 12 o brown bottle this beer poured a hazy apricot color with a huge foamy orange-white head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was spritzy and crisp orange, lemon, cracker and clove. The flavor was dust wheat, bread, lemon and perfume. Medium length finish that turns dry. Medium body. Ok.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, April 15, 2014 bottled on date, poured into a weizen glass. Pours deep golden with medium white head. Aroma is light herbal hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and pretty good big bubble lacing. Taste is herbal hops, a little citrus, with a bitter finish. Just above average for the style for me.

Very average wheat ale. Initial aroma is hoppy like an IPA but the flavor leaves something to be desired.

7/3/2010. Sampled at the brewery. Hazy golden color with a white head. Aromas of coriander, clove, malt, hay and light fruit. Tart, malty flavors with bitter hops on the end.

Bottle. Unfortunately think this one is past it's prime too. Pours hazy gold with no head. Nose is almost undetectable. Taste is a little musty and a strong hint of apricots. Palate is very thick. Weird for the style. Hope to retry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Pale yellow with a bit of an orange tinge with a decent white head. Fresh, some wheat, bit of corn, light malt, some floral hops but very light. Somewhat sweet, mild body and moderate carbonation, bit of a stale aftertaste though with an odd combination of slight bitterness and a corny sweetness.

Pours hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is wheat, citrus, earthy and floral. Taste is sweet with some acidic tartness. Light bodied and very easy to drink.
