COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A highly hopped contemporary India Pale Ale. Brewed with copious amounts of Cascade and Amarillo hops, this IPA is balanced nicely with a strong malt body. A great beer for any occasion. Brewed originally as the beer ration for British troops in India, it was preserved with extra hops and higher alcohol for the long sea voyage. India Pale Ale, IPA as it is usually referred to, has become America’s second most popular microbrewery style. If you enjoy a rich, aggressive hop flavor, this is your ale of choice.

Cloudy-amber pour, with a nice retentive suds cap that leaves soapy lace. Big floral nose, earthen hops and grass. Nicely bitter the whole way through, there is a nice note of caramel, spiced citrus.... then finishing toward the back-palate with toast, citrus zest/peel and lingering bitters. Medium mouthfeel, as the carbonation provides just enough life to round out the creamy palate. Decent stuff here.

Looks like tarnished bronze. Super hoppy as it’s the style. Very bitter. I was graciously gifted with a large head when I poured it from a bottle. Beware of hops and grassy taste.

Bottle. Dark copper bronze wiht an off white head. Caramel, tea leaves and wood in the nose. Strong, beefy caramel/toffee breadiness then American hoppy grapefruit, pine and some woodiness. Moderately sweet with ample grapefruit-rind bitterness. Full, medium-smooth texture with moderate carbonation. Solid IPA.

GUSHER!!! Only got a half glass after all the loss :( But even though I thought ’Oh no! not another infected alewerks!’ I was pleasantly suprised to find that the beer was quite tasty. A very cloudy bronze color with some particulate floating at the bottom with very well sustained light tan head. Nose of VERY floral hops. Sweet and bitter with a lingering finish. No other signs of infection or off-flavors.

A dark brass ale with lacing, and a mildly sweet aroma. Is it my nose, or are brewers paying less attention to aroma these days? This is not a super-hoppy IPA Good malt flavors, and a hint of orange, but not much bite or esters. Average to good - this is not as impressive as WAW’s Chesapeake Pale Ale, in my opinion. Maybe it was not the best bottle.

Poured a hazy amber with a very small white head. Aroma is strong hops with some citrus behind it. Flavor is grapefruit, pineapple, pine, bubblegum, caramel malts. Finishes bitter, nice lasting flavor.

Pours a cloudy orange with a light head that dissipates quickly. Smells of citrus - noticeably grapefruit. Tastes tart with little carbonation - like poured draught - I really like this beer and think it has only one drawback - it’s got a bit of slick tongue coating that remains after swallowing...it’s why I dinged the ’palate’ portion. Other than that, though, a great beer.

Pour is red hued, fairly red...with a very small off white ring of bubbles for a head. Aroma has strong caramel, touch of citrus, all on a solid hop background. This beer is not as full bodied as the aroma leads you to expect. The flavor is true to the aroma, the hops are more subdued than most IPA’s. But the Caramelized malts, and the sweet citrus makes the flavor unique, and very enjoyable.
