The aroma was a nutty coffee. It pour a rich dark, black color like your morning coffee but with a solid head. I did not find this beer sweet at all. It was a rich hazelnut coffee, that finished fairly clean. I did not find it that complex, it was an ok beer.

Williamsburg, Va - on tap at the Alewerks Taproom. Light brown pour, soft bone colored silky head with a Light film of lacing. Touch of coffee and topsoil in the aroma. Flavor has some nutty accents, a hint of chocolate, earthy topsoil finish. Thick enough mouthfeel.

Draft at Alewerks Taproom. Muddy light brown body with a thin, off-white collar. Sweet malt, fruity aroma. Light bodied, bready, slightly sweet. A nice note of caramel candies. Easy drinking. Solid.

Bottle... Pours clear and brown with copper highlights and a small, flimsy, white head. The nose is both toasty and nutty. Medium to full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor is nutty, toasty and pleasantly sweet. Mildly chocolaty finish with a hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian!

Draft at the Fat Canary for a birthday celebration. Fairly standard brown ale appearance. Great coffe aroma with a hint of dark malt. More coffe in the flavor too with a touch of bitterness. Nice and not boring.

Bottle pour @ the 21st Richmond Gathering. Amber pour with a small head. Loads of caramel. Hot cross buns. A bit of cocoa. Taste is overly carbed. Loads of cola, nuts, caramel. Chocolate malt. Brown toast. Meidum body. Carbonation takes away from it a bit.

Bottle - gift from family after their recent trip to Williamsburg. Pours a dark, muddy brown. Minimal tan head during the pour that quickly fades to nothing once it settles in the glass. Absolutely no lacing along the glass. Aroma has some roasty, nutty notes to it with just a touch of spice. Flavor is moderately sweet up front with some hop bitterness in the finish. Lingering roasted malt notes on the tail end. Nice, enjoyable brown ale.
