Pours copper with little to no white head. Aromas of caramel malts and candied sugars. Has a bit of hop bitterness on the taste with a little bit of the malts lingering but also has a funk to it and leaves a metallic taste. Overall not a bad beer but nothing great either.

coolpop (1394) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - MAY 30, 2012
Bottle. Pours reddish amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, malty, some fruit. Flavor is sweet up front, lots of caramel, cherry, bit of dates (almost doppelbockesque!), then the hops take over. Medium bitter, some grapefruit and grass. Slightly thin mouthfeel. Kind of odd astringent quality.

Clear, amber colored, light beige colored head. The smell is dusty, malty, chalky, stale hops, and cardboard. The taste is more of the same uninspired and lacking.
