Bottle from State Line. Pours clear ruby with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is scotchy malt, vinous fruit, berry, red grapey notes. Tastes malty, a bit merloty, with a lot of berry, grape, and some figgy notes throughout. Decent.

Dark copper color. Smell of wheat, hops, malt and brown sugar. Taste of malt, hops, burnt caramel, light pine, peanut shells and minor fruit. Very weak.

12oz bottle. Thanks to Immy. Pours dark copper in color with thin brown head. Aroma malty and sweet. Taste malty, nutty and sour which was a turn-off!!!! with dry finish.

12 oz bottle. Clear, dark amber with a slight off white head. Mildly sweet nose of caramel, and nuts, somewhat tannic. Earthy flavor, mildly nutty, light tea. Not bad, but not great, either. Light side of medium body with decent carbonation.

On tap at CAH Innsbrook’s Viriginia beer event. I am currently feeling very irritated with myself because they were also pouring the Cream Ale and I didn’t realize I hadn’t tried that one, so I skipped it. Grrrr. In any event, medium amber, slightly reddish, clear, good head. Light malt flavor, faint caramel, a faint roast note, and some faint floral hops on the finish. Aroma was very faintly floral. Light bodied. Just not much going on here. The roast note is what saves this. Glad mine wasn’t infected, hope they get their sanitation issues straightened out.

I purchased a 6 pack from Farm Fresh and got home with much excitement. That quickly ended when I smelled this beer. Then I tasted it and it was very sour and off. I later found out from Grape and Gourmet about the contamination issues. I would really like to try this at the factory.
