3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
THOUGHTS: Nice and very flavorful low ABV beer. Nice and malty, but with enough hop bite at the end to make it interesting. Fairly British.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a hazy, light, orangey brown with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma contained moderate toasted and nutty malts, and caramel; hints of chocolate; and light citrus hops. The initial flavor was slightly sweet and lightly bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet and bitter with an average duration. There was caramel, nutty and toasted malts, citrus rind hops, hints of chocolate and slight metallic hops. The medium body was sort of watery with lightly fizzy carbonation and a metallic finsh.

Williamsburg, Va - on tap at the Alewerks Taproom. Cloudy light Amber pour with a Light off-white head. Fish tank aroma, slightly off-putting. Hint of pomegranate fruitiness, brief caramel sweetness and citrus bitterness, somewhat muddled.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Poured into a pint glass. Bottle.
3.25 A: Clear deep amber brown color. One and a half fingers of frothy off-white head. Retention is below average but a short ring of lacing is left.
3.5 S: Definitely hop forward. Floral with some early citrus notes. A touch of earthy hops underneath. Caramel maltiness with toastiness and a touch of cracker.
2.75 T: The taste is poorly balanced for an amber ale. Thereís not enough malt character. Moderate bitterness with a touch of tanginess to it. Earthy mountain stream component. Thereís some caramel and toastiness again, but itís not strong enough and it comes off as slightly watery.
2.5 M: Lighter watery body. It could use a touch more carbonation. Lacking creaminess too. Not a big fan here.
2.75 D: Itís not horrible, but itís well below average for the style.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Clear, reddish color. Aroma is the pleasant floral type hoppy smell. Taste is pretty good too. Love the mild floral hops that are a tad bitter but not the smack you in face kind.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from wegmans in northern va. Pours and smells like a good red ale, but has a fairly strong bitter aftertaste. Its decent, but the aftertaste kinda did it in for me. Not the best red Iíve had, not the worst.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Reviewed from notes.
This one was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy amber to red color with a small one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing.
The smell had a decent rolling caramel maltiness invading my nose that leveled off a bit as it warmed.
The taste was mainly malty sweet with a light bitter kick close to the end.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed appropriate and didnít have anything that told me this was bad.
Overall, not a bad American Amber/Red. Iíd probably get it again the next time Iím in Virginia.

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 6/20
12 oz bottle (no date but purchased 2 days ago) served in a snifter.
An unusual amount of ressure released by uncapping. Pours dark and murky red-brown in color, hazy and with an over-sized, creamy tan head that has excellent retention and leaves the glass well coated with lacing.
Flavor: better than the nose and drinkable, but still poor.
Feel: soft and smooth with high carbonation.
O: possible infected, making 2 out of 3 (all different beers) for me from this brewer. Should re-visit but the lack of quality control discourages that.
