(growler) Tan head atop cola black body. Aroma is medium sweet, rich roasty chocolate, some nut, light clove. Taste is moderately sweet, roast, some chocolate, Belgian yeast spiciness, light anise, syrup, banana. Medium body, low carbonation.

At the pub. Not a bad beer, but I expect more from this great brewery. Black body with sweet wheat aroma. Interesting mix between clove, banana weisse flavors with roasted dark brew qualities.

On draught at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a tiny tan head. Smells sweet and estery. Tastes of licorice, nuts, some roasty hints, unique beer.

Pours a very deep dark brown almost black with a nice tannish gray head. Aroma is rich with roasted charred malts, burnt toast very light earthy phenolics. Very burnt black malt flavor almost stout like but acrid dry earthy and lots of burnt toast and a light sweetness- earthy and dry finish. Pretty good overall for a belgain stout-like category.
