Tap. Pours much darker than expected, it’s almost amber in color with a small off-white head. The aroma is sweet and fruity with a little bit of corn and caramel. A little yeast note in the unfiltered version they served along side the regular version. The flavor is pretty similar to the nose, but the unfiltered version is a little softer and fruitier, lessening the corn influence tasted in the filtered version. Mouthfeel is pretty similar, a touch clingy and thick with a soft fizzy carbonation level. Maybe a touch softer feel from the unfiltered version. Overall, a little bit bland and boring. A little heavier on the sweetness and darker malts than I prefer in a Cream Ale.

Dogbrick (7971) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 30, 2013
Sample at the brewpub. Cloudy pale orange color with a medium thin white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of toasted malt and mild hops. Light-bodied with flavors of biscuit malt and mild grassy hops. The finish is lightly bitter with a grassy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

On draft at the brewery, very smooth and drinkable, I really like the perfect simplicity of this beer

Tap at the source. Pours clear gold with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is Pils and cereal malt with light hops. Flavor is malt dominant with faint hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.

Draught @ Brewpub: This one pours a clear golden color. There was very little white head on it and left no lacing. It has a very light aroma. Some malts, maybe a little corn and floral notes. The taste is OK, but not real exciting. Some malts, corn, Not much else of note. Pretty neutral on the sweet/bitter scale.

Elwood (3071) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - JUN 26, 2010
Serving: Draft at the brewpub.
It pours a light gold color with a frothy, white head. The nose is light with a bit of grain. This brew is very soft on the palate with light florals, grain, cereals, and a slight malt sweetness. It has a light mouthfeel with low to medium carbonation and a short finish. This is a great session brew.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy light orange with a small white head. Arom of yeast, sweet fruit, dry light malts, and floral hops. Flavor of light crisp hops, sweet fruit, and nice sweet malt. Better than the regular Cream Ale with a better malt backbone and a stronger hop presence. 7/4/8/4/15 (3.8/5)

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a super clear light orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet malt and corn. Flavor of corn/bready malt with a sweet finish and some light hoppy bitterness in there too. Very drinkable and enjoyable (although the unfiltered version is just a touch better!). Solid cream ale. 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)

Tap at the brewpub. Certainly similar to the regular cream, with the changes expected. Solid bitterness for a cream ale with a more complex citrus presence and nice supporting yeasty notes, dough blending well with the malt and light spiciness blending well with the hops. A winner of a cream ale.
Earlier Rating: 5/20/2009 Total Score: 3.5
Tap at the brewpub. Aroma of pale malts, leafy hops, marzipan, light lemon. Flavor has some citrusy bitterness with biscuit malt. Pretty basic, but a nice bitterness level for a cream ale, and nothing for me to complain about.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2009 Pours coppery with a whiet head. Smells fruity with some peppery elements splashed in. Tastes malty and fruity with some nice spicy tinges. One of the better samples I had while here. Full mouthfeel.
